So yes, as is, CCP is still well within the legal agreement you (and everyone else) made with them. If you dislike this, I'd recommend either cancelling your account (and EULA agreement), or traveling to Iceland to attempt to contest the EULA in the appropriate legal venue. If you choose the latter, good luck with that.

Actually, if you read your licensing agreement, if it's boilerplate, as most are, you can't expect any compensation at all, even if it's off for a month, or goes out of business.

Paying for a 'subscription' is always a risk, for the consumer, not the company. Load up your C64 emulator and play a rousing game of M.U.L.E., or practice your LOGO coding? Hell, I still play around on GEOS, though it's on a C128 with a real 1581/1541, and Lt. Kernel 20MB hard drive. (That was considered infinite, back in the days. :)
