Are they mad!?!?!?!? No wonder they need a daily downtime. They really do need to reboot their servers every day. Dayum.

I seriously thought everyone was sensible enough to at least put there servers on a solid OS (some form of UNIX) but apparently I was wrong...

No wonder they can't roll back. They might need to reinstall their OSs to fix this. Did microsoft issue one of their "unstoppable" patches yesterday?


i run game servers on windows 2008 r2 and have 0 issues. Runs for weeks without restarts. Your Microsoftphobia is a bit misplaced i think.


Ahh, see, you run for "weeks" without restarts.

I consider running for *years* without restarts to be minimum competency.

Ever heard of "five nines of uptime"? That's the target, not mere weeks.



Stop it your going to hurt there feelings. You know the system has to be restarted daily. They haven't gotten to 2 "9's".

Well ain't this a pickle!

As a former software dev and executive I feel for the CCP boys atm. So many things can go wrong. Yup things were likely missed in test. Yup you can expect issues after updates. Yup when you host a service that has 10's of thousands of users you can bet there will be nasties that pop up from time to time. It sucks, but I am pretty sure after 13 years of doing this the chaps at CCP know what they are doing and will have our darling Eve back up soon.

So go give your wife a kiss, or your kids some time or get back to work because that time sucking b**ch Eve will be calling you soon!

hmm i wonder when ccp is going to employer real gamming programers and get rid of ego happy devs maybe thay should make this game like dust 514 free and when ccp decides to compensate ppl who are current subs thay should compansate acording to the time zone ie here in au its taken up all of our prime time and we pay good money for this
