ARGH!!! This delay is making it hard for me to stay awake. My Hypersomnia is going to cause me to pass out before the server comes back up.

Maybe....like in real IT environments.....if you have a cockup like that for over severall hours you should roll back the changes until you are back to the original state before you started.
But I guess a good backup or roll backup procedure was not thought off.
If I would do this at the company I work for, I would be having a lot of spare time as of tomorrow.
Be serious about this!!! People are spending money on this every month.
