rupture concept pics (v1) (v2)

I love the ship but the model currently in game is really tired. I like the cross between a galleon and a gun thing that it has going on but it needs to be much more subtle. I know you 3D artists can do much better - go for it.
My effort has rotating upper and lower arrays for different flight modes/warp plus it has asymmetry that is balanced.

Please update the Rupture model with something better Big smile

Note that all pics are the same ship model, upper variant has arrays deployed/unfolded whereas lower variant has arrays folded against the ship.

There is some ugly duckling charm about the current rust bucket....

hopefully the second picture retains more of that charm?

Yeah that's actually not half bad. I'd be tempted to see if I couldn't fit some maelstrom-esque dual front sails along the central vertical line, but even talking about it I'm not sure I could do it smoothly without more or less doing the maelstrom sails stuck on the sides, which would be kinda hodgepodge. Your presentation model is a little hard to read, but yeah, that's not half bad.

That's about as good as it gets with my skills, not sure how to lay it out so it's easier to read, hopefully the general idea comes across.

I agree that the rust bucket is kinda old, and that it is in a need of some remodeling.

I'd like something fatter and meatier, but there is a definite charm to that sketch. Perhaps something between that and the current rupture?

Personally, I am favoring the one with the blue background in the V2 image. Has this resemblance to this kind of dinosaur: small, nimble, totally deadly.

The version with the green background resembles the Augoror/Guardian too closely.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Yeah, the resemblance to the Tempest is nice, but not too in your face, doesn't step on the Tempest's toes. I do like that yours is a bit flatter, right now the rupture is a bit too "lopsided pyramid" for my tastes. Your model strikes a nice balance, keep the old 'spirit' and gives it a good ip and tuck here and there, of course as you said, it needs some more detail. Still, great stuff!

Grrr.
