Crucible was the "magnet" that was going to draw large numbers of people into the game.

These people are either new blood or players coming back with the new hope of a new improved game experience.

I think this expectation may fail because of the continuous start up issues, rounds of endless patching & the same old general reliability issues.

I am not naive to not know that poo happens but this has been an endless stream of dung & I feel that it will damage the perception of any new players coming into the game.

I also know that it is wrong to criticise without offering helpful suggestions but what can be said that has not already be said.

CCP need to improve on the overall impressions created by all these hiccups in the hope that they can finally exercise the spectre of a game that is floundering, of course the game is not floundering but if you left game & came back & saw more of the same- what would you think?. I think it is tragic that all these issues centre around expansions when players should be enjoying the new content instead of wondering whether they can play because of technical issues.

The game IS beautiful and it is vastly improved, so well done for that, it is just a shame that some of the pieces are not yet in place.

I was actually referring to the post below yours, but considering you just jumped to conclusions without reading all of the posts I am now safe in my assertion that you are, verily, an idiot Lol

Uh, no...Crucible was CCP's mea culpa for the mess that this last year has been for Eve, CCP and the players. And a damn fine mea culpa it was, but it had nothing to do with bringing in new players.

Even highly advanced beings 1000s of years ahead of us technologically had an issue with their servers back in 1947. You can't expect CCP to have a 100% error free machine.

OP clearly wasn't here for Trinity.
OP clearly has no idea what CCP can do when they really screw up.

I must log in at the right times, because I don't even know what the OP is talking about. 2 emergency reboots in a month isn't exactly earth shattering.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I was in game when Trinity hit. I've been here 5 years. Does this not prove that CCP have not learnt many lessons?

No it wasn't. Crucible was the desperate Hail Mary pass play to stem the flow of people out of the game after CCP spent two years ignoring Eve.

Question: When has it ever been any different? You basically described business as usual for EVE. Endless patches? It's called "development."

I agree. However, should patches move the game forward?

There have been many instances where the patches have moved the game backwards or worse broke it.
