Alright I'm gonna take a chance at this not being completely made up. I've got a soft spot for the broken-hearted, I guess.

I once spent five years pursuing a girl. She was my best friend and I was pretty sure I was in love with her. I watched her go through several bad boyfriends and it tore me up that she wouldn't give me a chance after all that. And yes, she knew about my feelings. It took me realizing that she wasn't quite the person I thought she was before I gave up on her. I met my wife three months later.

Some times you think you've found the perfect girl, until you realize you never did. As dear as that woman still is to me, I understand now that any romantic relationship between us would have imploded: we're too much alike in all the wrong ways. I'm much better off having her as a good friend than an ex-wife.

I think I am evidence to the contrary. I am quite insane as I am sure the majority of the Eve community will agree.

I suspect getting laid would have little effect on your particular brand of insanity.

There are two ways to view women (people in general). There is the idealized vision of them that exists only inside your head (like when you are in love) and then there is the reality of who/what they really are.

The pain you expereince in a break-up is partially due to being forced to give up the idealized version in your mind that has brought you so much pleasure. But it's only fantasy...not real.

Look at people (especially in romance) for what they really are, not what you would like them to be and you will see that thay are not worth your pain.

More men have gone insane trying to get it than actually from it.

Seriously, over the years I have met guys who actually lived under the idea that if they did NOT chase every skirt they saw, and some of these guys were married, they would "become gay".

Yes, I was told this on several occasions by different hound dogs with a straight face.

Also, was once told that any man over 30 who is not sporting a beer belly is also "a homo".

So let's see, in order to be a "real man", I gotta have a big fat stomach and chase every skirt I see?

I think it's the advertising. So much skin and boobs used to sell stuff, that guys think sex is some kind of defining factor and so without it, they are doomed - or "going homo" as if a dose of woman flesh is required to stave off a built in desire to play on the other team.

Once you see the conditioning you can see through it. My girlfriend knows full well that I was not looking to get laid when I met her.

You've shared your IQs with eachother What? Who does this? It's like the weenie equivalent of bragging about how much you can lift.

Hint: it means nothing.

Dont belittle things he values. It's no different than sharing what music you like, like most kids do.

I have a small belly, I don't drink beer and I don't chase every skirt I see. I guess were you live I would be a woman. Do you live in a red state by chance?

What music you like is an interest, your IQ is not. It is a fact about yourself. It's actually worse than how much you can lift, your IQ is closer to sharing your eye colour with someone else. Also saying you are a good match because you both have high IQs is also as silly as saying you will make a good match because you have the same eye colour.

Not trying to be rude but that's a really poor measure of compatibility. o_o

On a side note! I suspect people who exercise all day instead of learning like he does do actually share how much they can lift when they meet someone, so its probably more common to share these random facts than I originally thought! Reminder: common =! logical.

Roll I knew someone would say something like that. I live in Texas and I don't know any guys who act like that. There are plenty of beer bellies unfortunately, but I don't know of any men around here who think chasing women prevents gayness. And certainly none of them will accuse you of anything other than healthy living should you actually stay in shape.
