Update to the Launcher and the repair tool - Fix inside!

All of this, and they plan to remove the launch from exe option.


CCP better have a new fancy launcher that works on patch day.


Edit: I'll wait to see how you reword the develop before flipping out here at work. With the launcher you have now, you'd essentially be taking EVE away from me for good. Shocked

I feared that this would happen on patch day when my launcher started bugging out a couple of weeks ago.
I get the same error when running the newest version of repair.exe. The launcher always starts in offline mode, both on the Steam and non-Steam version of the game. I've also tried updating the launcher to the pre-release version (884420) but that have made no difference. So now I've got no way to update the game.

Edit: I use my cellphone and the 4G network as my internet connection due to it being way faster, and I tried to switch back to my WIFI and the launcher worked it may be coincidental, but I doubt it. At least I got my game updated to the newest version and can continue to run it with the exefile.

Please, can someone confir if this is the last valid laucher.. I am having trouble in update it from today (carnyx) patch

Same problem. EVE cannot start. crashing.
Repair fails with SSL problem.

5 accounts down. CCP, are you gonna extend my game time because of that?

Same problem too. Launcher don't start client (okay it starts the process, but there is no client).

Done already:
- Use beta launcher
- Update the repair.exe manually (ssl error)
- Deactivate Bitdefender
- Restart pc

Didn't try:
- Reinstall Eve

Please find a solution where I don't need to reinstall Eve...

Solution:

Run rescache.exe in main folder.
Delete corrupted files.
Rund again.
Download missing files.
PLAY.

Yes is annoying, today it decided to stop downloading or connecting to the client at 2pm CST, it will most likely stay this way till around 11pm cst. Downloaded the patch today, after 4 hours or so it finally said the client was ready, then eve stop responding when I hit play, kept crashing while trying to load the char select screen. ran rescache and 15k files missing, while trying to DL them it just stopped after a few hundred for downloaded.

As with the rest in here, this is the only game I have issues with. What makes Eve online and mediacom non compatible for like 7 or so hours a day?

Well on mediacoms support forums and talking to a tech, did a tracert and they said that it looks like after it goes to AT&T thats where it seems to be dropping off.

i reinstalled eve twice, i runned rescache and downloaded 2 gb files, tried the repair tool which didnt worked, cleared launcher cache, restarted my computer god knows how many times, i did everything you mentioned in this topic so please dont tell me 'plug your computers cord to an electric source' , im trying to get this working for 6 hours now.

when i open the launcher it tries to patch the game and gets stuck at '%43.1' , and shows me this error;

i saw people getting rekt by launcher errors many times before and i really wished this wouldnt happen to me, now i got rekt so, CCP fix it please?

My launcher hasn't worked since a release that came out months ago but the repair.exe used to fix my exefile.exe so I didn't worry about it. Today I try to run repair.exe and it directs me to a log file where I find :


SSLError: [Errno 1] _ssl.c:504: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

and

error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed


I saw the comment above about running rescache.exe. I did and am now waiting while it downloads 46,850 “missing” files (totaling 5.5 gigs).

Hopefully this works but for now, chalk another one up as having launcher problems.

Update: Downloaded all 46,850 “missing” files. Launcher still broken, exefile.exe still won't connect. Repair.exe still points to log files that mention “SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed”

The only difference is that now, the warning that tells you about the log file, instantly deletes the log the moment you acknowledge the error.

Exactly, exactly, exactly -- I'm with Mediacom in Pensacola and feel it's well past time for a 'phone call' to whoever runs the ATnT servers from CCP to figure out what is going on with their customers.
