It seemed plausible that a SBA might work on remote reps

Less so the ship bonus

I'm not convinced any of you actually know if a SBA works on remote reps. Personally I think it is unlikely but unlikely isn't the same as impossible.

It doesn't.

It's a local module. Local bonuses do not apply to remote effects.
There, I changed the wording and it still means the same thing.

The shield boost amplifier just effect shield boost modules you put in medium power slots. Which is only local boosters.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

It's only relevant to reps , if a ship has a tracking bonus, it is just a tracking bonus it is not relative to how good your tracking computer is.

I have no idea what you're saying.

In any way .... local bonuses do not apply to remote effects.

I'm saying the shield boost amplifier is unique in it's method of applying it's effect

If your conclusion is based upon the pattern of how modules work and not first hand knowledge or evehas actually stated that somewhere then it is a hasty conclusion.

It's how it works.
The issue is on your side, but not accepting that it's how it is.

This thread, btw, ran it's course as it has been answered successfully.

Quote:
2. Be respectful toward others at all times.

The purpose of the EVE Online forums is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, and a venue for the discussion of EVE Online. Occasionally there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Forum users are expected to be courteous when disagreeing with others.

3. Ranting is prohibited.

A rant is a post that is often filled with angry and counterproductive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and is helpful in development of the game and community. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise and clear manner while avoiding going off on rambling tangents.

4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not conductive to the community spirit that CCP promotes. As such, this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive, and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

Please be respectful and constructive. I have removed a couple posts that were in violation of these rules, and others that were quoting them.

I will also move this to the Ships & Modules board.

I'm honestly surprised Nevil hasn't been banned from the forums by this point. I can't think of a thread he's started that he hasn't intentionally derail.

I am the authority on all things Eve , you dare to question how I know it doesn't work on remote reps ?

There's local reps and remote reps, and bonuses for both. There is no bonus to receiving remote reps, only giving them.

So I always thought too, it's really only the one module that made me question that because amplifying remote reps seems a far more appropriate thing for it to do than amplifying local reps.

I'm more interested in how you know the answer than what the answer is because if a guess was good enough then I wouldn't bother asking.

Much as the forum might like the game rules to be a democratic decision by the players, it either does or it doesn't work on remote reps irrespective of how many people guess one way or the other.

Or how well someone can word an explanation that CCP might have written about it, if they didn't.
