I used to post these kind of one shot questions in new citizens but someone pointed out that my character is no longer one.

So here we are General Discussion.

Shield Boosting

I won't go into what my guess is or what seems logical to me right away so here is the question to the panel

There are ships and modules that give bonuses to shield boosting, does the bonus apply to remote shield boosting as in receiving reps ?

feel free to post general questions in new citizens, as other people likely have similar questions.

AFAIK no bonuses apply to receiving reps

In the case of ships it says 'Bonus to shield booster amount'

In the case of the module it says ' Focuses and amplifies the efficiency of shield boosting modules'

So unless I am going to get a second account and look very closely at the distance the bar moves to see if it is different then I'm not sure.

Generally, no. Shield emission systems do not "boost" shields, they transfer it.

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

Yes but it also specifies remote.

Unless something says remote it only applies to the modules you use on yourself.

Also if you mouse over the HUD you can get absolute HP values so you can tell if it was 500 HP or 510 HP (Best tested with armor since it doesnt auto regen like shields do)

The modules and rigs do not improve remote shield boost amount, just local. Same for the Crystal implant set.

Download EFT. Its free and you can see which modules affect what stat.

Local bonuses do not apply to effects applied by someone else.

You make it sound like a commonly known verse, what other situation is that applicable ?

Armor reps.
Remote sensor boosters
Remote Tracking Computers

Some of these things come with intuition. When games began being popular some players began being more intrusively interested in how games are made. You get a knack for realising which objects are separated or not.

There is a ship or module that has a bonus to Tracking Computes or Sensor Boosters ?

There are ships or modules that can give you a bonus when you fly/use them, to repairs done BY you TO you.
There are ships or modules that can give you a bonus when you fly/use them, to repairs done BY you TO others.
There are no ships or modules that can give a bonus to you when you fly/use them, that increases repairs done BY others TO you.

Does this help a bit more?

Edit: Look up Logistics cruisers.

Well ok then you know your shield boosting amplifiers well, just they seem to drop quite frequently in anomic team missions where the pirate is being shield boosted and found it a bit strange that they have never dropped on any other type of mission I have done.

So as we all feel that our intuition and intrinsic empathy with the way games are designed is far superior to knowing the answer I guess there is no need for me to ask.

if the ship's info says "bonus to shield boosting" or "bonus to armor remair" it means local reps only.

remote shield boosting or armor repair is "bonus to remote shield boosting / armor repair".

I simply tried to fit the whole answer into a phrase that engulfs everything related
and this popped into my head. It answers your question fully, for all modules.

Osprey 12.5% Bonus to Remote Shield Booster Amount
However, what might be interesting if active tank ships are still considered weak is say local boosts incoming remote.
The cyclone has 7.5% boosting bonus per skill level ... now if that was added to incoming repairs ... (it might be over powered so be limited to only running when a local shield booster or such is running at the same time ... but that might be too complex ... bleh )
