The problem with NDRS and Provi is IMO, you put a false promise of safety into their brains where by fact you can't guarantee for their safety in your own space. Nobody can, it's free to roam there for everyone. I remember that explorer I was able to approach for seconds, kill&loot and he was astonished and angry I interfered with him (cause "rules"). This same explorer educated in low or other null space would have watched dscan and overview and GTFO (or fight).

That's so true and a sad reflection of the "civilized" world of today.

Thanks!

So what is a pirate?

A "Pirate" with in the confides of this game, is an individual or organization that abides by a strict code. True pirates play a role with in Eve as they, like you, establish rules outside of the established mechanics to facilitate their own play style. Pirate organizations have been around before release, and they still exist today. Their strict code is to HONOR a ransom, or they will be kicked from the organization, if not their play style will die.

Just like you and your group of specialsnowflakes, as soon as you allow them to break your NRDS policies, your play style and how you want to play ends abruptly.

The broad brush strokes of the ignorant has basically obscured these pilots and organization to a point where we, Eve in general has lost a part of the lore of this game. And it is not the fasult of the newbies, it is the fault of the of the folks that been here awhile and really have no clue how 90% of the rest of Eve works.

Syna Anima wrote:
You kill unsuspecting neutrals that try low sec for the first time, you ransom their expensive ratting ship and then also blow it up after they pay you? Is this not correct?

Those folks are NOT pirates, those are folks looking for engagement. And if the hi-sec carebear is unsuspecting, then they are doing it wrong. Not only that, it greatly highlights the ignorance and tripe they are fed by folks that have no real clue what they are talking about. Let alone understand the game itself.

Nice has nothing to do with it. I have given cash back to pilots that I pounced upon and instructed them what they should do the next time. However, the attitude of my prey directly impacts whether I post a KM or not.

NULL sec is completely different than that of the folks who live in Lo-sec. NULL bears operate a completely different way, and NBSI rules strictly apply if not you will find your ship, pod and empire die quickly.

You may have rules you fly by, fantastic, CVA I know has done extremely well, and tip my hat to the folks that make it work. However, the rest of Eve operates on a different level as their play style works for them. And Carebears that complain about lo-sec and null sec that it is too brutal or can't do this or that resides solely on their mind set.

If you feel that you are unjustly KOS contact a CVA diplo and ask them why this is like this. More often than not you can be KOS by corp history and if you or your corp have killed a provi member in highsec, lowse, or other null regions. Alliances who use neutral alts NPC corps to hotdrop onto ratters and miners are labeled perminantly KOS in most cases. With NRDS you have to actually pay attention to what is happening in system, if you don't you may find yourself In a pod with a stupid loss mail.

That being said, the nature of the way eve works means that having a fleet in stand by to save every person ratting 23/7 in every system an entity owns is impossible. The responsibility rests with the person flying the ship to have backup. That is no different to any other space, and as providence is close to highsec, it gets a lot of traffic. We enjoy these fighting groups who come on 'friendly' terms to get some kills. I remember a streamer who came into one of the systems I live in and on the stream he had said on the way there, we can get good kills in said system. They then got wiped out by two remote repping domi's flown by some friends of mine. It was a beautiful fight and I wish I had been online at the time.

My point with this is, the key is not that you should inherently rely on the sov holder defending you 23/7, but that if you are out In space the only protection you need is the protection you get yourself. Too many people who live down here never do that so they always complain that people won't help them when they get a hotdropper ontop of their expensive ship or mining barge. I have seen this happen constantly for 2 years. (Eep been down here a long time) It seems mind boggling that this happens, and I have seen some people forced out of provi because the red set them on a watch list and would kill them every time they logged on. (Yeah true story that one) it's mind boggling sometimes but you get used to it.

The danger level between providence and the rest of nullsec is that one can safely afk ships to make income, and the other will always lose afk ships. I have hardly ever seen someone who was actively paying attention to eve getting caught, usually the people getting caught were watching Netflix in another window or just not even there.

I encourage all who really want to lose their KOS status to contact CVA diplos and other sov holders' diplos in providence. If you are minmatar faction warfare GG you are always KOS because RP reasons and Amarr victor. To anyone else that wishes to come down and pvp have fun and I wish you good fights.

Don't do it. It's a trap.

Most likely you are KOS to them and won't even take a convo.

Their system for deciding who is KOS, neut corp or not most likely places you in a RED state.

Provi is going down soon anyway. Not a fan of GSF but will be entertaining to see such arrogant tools in provi get wiped out overnight.

You have no idea what you talk about.

If you think GSF mission is to remove ProviBloc you are sadly mistaken. On the contrary, they come to Providence to join the fun fights and content plus test the new sov mechanics.

It will be fun, there will be lots of good fights, but at the end, Providence will still be here and kicking. If you think they want to kick us, nope, that will only happen if we don't put up a good fight, which is highly unlikely.

GSF has all interests to keep Provi as it is now. Why do you think they tell us a month in advance to prepare?

Most pilots that post stuff like above have no idea what Providence means, maybe it would help you to come down and visit. Getting pod-expressed home after a good fight might change your outdated opinions.

"Your sins can be forgiven if you turn your ways and see the light."

Excuse my RP, this can be fixed and you are in luck, war is starting in Providence and war = content = fun.

We can remove you from the KOS list and if you decide to turn NRDS and respect our ways, you might find yourself enjoying it very much, if you like to FC you might even get 100+ pilots on a regular night to die for you, I think you would enjoy it very much.

To remove your KOS you need to join CVA-Diplo channel in game, talk to one of the admins, tell him you want to repair the damage you have created and join Providence and NRDS. You must be honest about it, not just for the lols.

This means that if you killed someone in a 1 bil ship last week in Providence, then you should be ready to reimburse that pilot before you are removed from the KOS list. All actions have consequences, so if you are ready to pay for that, fix your past and try a new life, you are most welcomed.

I can help you, provided you show the commitment. I am Head Diplomat of YF and if you are serious about it, then I am sure this can be fixed quite fast. You must understand that, NRDS is more than just rules on how to shoot, it is about an approach to life and there is no other place for me in EVE.

Providence and NRDS is the reason I still play this game after 8 years. Providence was the only place that welcomed me in 0.0. So I will rather quit the game than play in any other way.

P.S. It also means you need to leave any red alliance or corp and join us or a neutral corp to Providence. Then you can start a new life, you can also post with your main, being open about it is the fastest way to a new life. You can also join my channel syndax and we can talk if you are online or mail me.

Hi there,

unfortunately i dont want to leave my corp because of sentimental reasons even if almost nobody is online anymore so it would be cool if we could revert standings for the whole corp. I did pirating a lot and normaly i dont care for neutrals... they are just targets but i would change my behaiviour in provi-space. I dont know if that would be okay. I am not in an alliance so that wouldnt be a problem. I will join your public channel later with my main so we can talk. Thanks for your time :)

Don't stay in a dead corp for sentimental reasons, all that's going to achieve is to make you quit EVE.

Provi is a good a place as any in nullsec, and better than most. They don't generally have the nastiness and toxicity that some other entities have a reputation for.

Protect me from knowing what I don't need to know. Protect me from even knowing that there are things to know that I don't know. Protect me from knowing that I decided not to know about the things that I decided not to know about. Amen.

Some great action going on in Providence for the last few days.

NC. vs ProviBloc, dozens of billions lost every night left and right + third parties joining, PL, Horde, etc. 700+ going soon to 1000 pilots engagements in sub-caps and caps.

Come join the fun!

Well NC. moved close to Provi and they are having a lot of fun with us. Not sure what their exact plan is, but so far they have generated a lot of content for everyone.

We had some fantastic fights in the past few days. They dropped some SBU and we ofc reacted and mayhem ensured.

We will defend Provi until last man. It is impressive to see ProviBloc fielding 400 pilots all in doctrine, t3, ishtars, ecm, bombers, etc.

Basically the above fight happened at a gate over a SBU they dropped in our space. We killed some nice caps, about 7 carriers and some fancy lokies. PL came to farm also, but we bombed them and NC. to victory with about 50 bombers. You know my alliance has the best bombers in Provi and maybe the game, they are called OSSIM, they are Italian and they destroy entire fleets on a regular basis.

It's quite impressive.

As for Provi, the thought of heading to Providence and blapping massed Goon interceptors is rather appealing, but I am red to Provi block due to me roaming there once (actually more than that) and my ex-Corp FC liking to roam there when bored.

Reading what you just did to NCDOT and PL warmed the cockles of me heart, I wonder if my corpies have given up on GTA 5 by June, I hope so, having said that I think all of them are KOS too...

As for NCDOT I would think their plan is to try and save their alliance, all their recent activity smacks of fail cascade, which I noted when some of their leadership who don't normally go in fleets did so in their first invasion (cough) of Fountain, the second invasion was to try to get their people to log in, so now they are going after easier fights then the CFC, so kick their ass they deserve it...

EDIT: I half expect NCDOT to merge into PL...

EDIT2: OK if my alliance is not doing its own thing in 0.0 due to lack of activity then I will come to Provi to help you defend it.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Yes clearly your NRDS spirit shines here. But, since I've have zero interaction with providence in my 4 yrs I'm sure I am KOS... like most of New Eden is virtually by the default state of your faulty system.

I am gonna go out on a limb here, and suggest that they (NC.) did it for spite.
Considering the announcement of The Imperium's plan to hit Providence after the sov changes, the timing is amusing to say the least.
Though, if this ends up being some kind of amusing bait and switch, I am going to laugh my ass off.

I give neuts the SOV alliances linked so they can set them to a colour, advise them to keep Local open and treat any one not of that list as potentially hostile until proven otherwise. Further, I mention that they probably want to get safe and away from gates when Local leaps up in numbers because grid association can get your shot.
I also link the KOS site, so they can check corps and individuals themselves.

We accept that people will use the neutral status to pick one of us out. When they have had their cheap little shot, they have closed a door on a great opportunity to a lot of fun and comradery

I certainly did enjoy my time in Providence. Was not a member of Yulai, but Arx. Sadly the NRDS is not for everybody. I did try to pvp a bit but in the end I had no clue who was red, who was neut ( LOL )

The money is pretty good. We did a lot of exploration and used to salvage a lot. I was rich in a week so had enough isk to get off the welfare and into the program. :) Sadly the corp I was in somehow died. No idea why.

Certainly recommend for a fun EVE experience.

Well kick me in the nuts, this is what's going on in Provi right now...

Hundreds of titans, supers, sub-caps... all major alliances...

GG... Provi won EVE. Too bad NC. can't fight without titans. Spoils good fights.
