to make it short, i installed on a second computer and now the newbie tutorials pop up everytime I log on. Complete with wanting me to go get my first ship. Is there a way to turn this off?

In the configuration menu, General, "Show Tutorials." Untick it.

Installing EVE on a new computer is one of the most annoying things ever. Tutorial thing is easy to fix as Ferni said. What isn't easy to fix are ALL THE DAMN POP UPS every time you breath. "Do you want to undock without x item?". "Do you want to share mission rewards?" "Do you want to enter low security space?", "Are you sure you want to mount that rig?", "Are you sure you want to destroy that right Rig?" "Are you REALLY sure?" "Dude, you gotta be positive, there's no going back!!". Then a pop up that says "Dude, can't believe you actually did that".

And there is no way of turning all that off until you actually perform the action. On my new system I swear that if a pop up appeared asking "are you sure you want to scratch your left arse cheek like that?" I honestly would not have been surprised.
