First of all let me congratulate you on the great tool you have created.!

Recently returned to eve and this tool is way better is most things than mentat that i used before.

There is only one problem that is killing me... Please let me easily compare prices between 2 stations in different regions...... This was super simple with mentat and using Crest should be even easier. Except one cant :P

Id even open 2 evernus so i could have prices loaded and easily look up both stations but i cant unless im running a virtual machine and my crappy laptop can barely keep up eve and a few chrome tabs open....

Been trying to see if i spot you online for a few days to bug you with this but i just dont seem to be online when you are.

Either way thanks for the great app and keep up the awsome work!

Full region comparison is planned, but my time is quite limited currently. At the moment you can do it, to some extent, using the margin tool - it allows selecting custom station as a source for buy price. You can use that with the market analysis tab by importing desired prices from where you wish (note that you should uncheck the "don't save..." checkbox there).

I like this tool a lot, but I have a couple requests for the margin tool.

Since it's based on elinor, I expected it to function as quickly as elinor does....but it doesn't. It takes a solid 1-2 seconds after an export to read the prices...and on a scale of 600 market orders, thats a significant time waiting.

Also, please make it so it auto-copies the new price when the "Sell price" and "Buy price" radio buttons are pushed. In elinor, I like exporting once, pasting sell order, clicking on radio button for "Buy order", and pasting the buy order. The problem with yours right now is I have to export again (again waiting 1-2 seconds) to re-copy the buy order.

Lastly, it would be awesome if you could add a comparison number in to the margin tool. I trade in a different tradehub, so it'd be great to see how the price that I just exported compares to Jita (this can be done through crest, eve-central, etc) so I can tell if its a crazy stupid markup or a decent one.

Great tool though, these are my only negatives of the tool

That's adjustable. You can turn on "alternative import method" in price preferences and it will work exactly as Elinor. But there's a catch. EVE sometimes messes up exporting logs (I won't go into technical details now) and not all orders could get imported that way. In such cases Elinor crashes (and in my case it used to crash more times than it worked). Evernus shows you incomplete data. Due to this, the alternative method is disabled by default. The slow method is guaranteed to work out of the box, or with simple adjustment in preferences. If you understand the risks involved, you can turn the alternative method on and the results will pretty much be instant.

If you wish to manually copy the prices, you have big buttons near each one which you can push and the price will be copied. You don't have to export logs again.

You can do it by by selecting an alternative price source (station) in the margin tool. It's the second tab when you open it.

Ah, ok. I'll try to use the alternative import functionality. Whats the technical differences?

Also, I can't seem to figure out how that alternative price source in the margin tool functions. Where does it show the price from that alternative source AND the price that is exported? Every time I try to use it, the sell price stays the same and buy price goes to 0.01.

Technically speaking, the alternative method as also used by Elinor, bases on opening the log file in exclusive rw mode until it succeeds (meaning EVE should have closed the file). This usually works, unless it doesn't. Not reliable at all, but works fast when it works. The slow method checks the last modification time of the log file until a specified time difference is met. That indicates EVE client finished writing to it.

As for the margin tool, the saved price is used as buy price, while the exported price is used as sell, so you can compute margins from other sources with current station in real time.

Ok, so it sounds to me like my problem is that I have no "saved price", which causes the buy price to go to 0.01. How do I save a price of a different trade hub?

For example, say I'm trading in dodixie and I go to sell an Abaddon. I click "Export" on the Abaddon and I have the sell price, but I want to see what it would go for in Jita but I don't have a Jita alt. I've tried importing the prices in the "Market Analysis" section, but that doesn't seem to work and still only shows "0.01" as buy order. I've also tried from "Market Browser", but it only seems to import from my current trade hub (i might be missing a button to change this)

Examples:

2. http://i.imgur.com/cKbc2IW.png - Data source selection
3. http://i.imgur.com/ukkE6Sy.png - Market analysis line (trust me, it was imported from The Forge)

If you import prices via the market analysis tab (or any other way - every time you import orders into Evernus, they get saved) with the "don't save..." checkbox unchecked, you can use it as a buy order source. Then open the margin tool and export prices from the hub you want to sell in.

Hmm, ok, i got that now (after waiting a loooong time for it all to save). But now I see a different problem, since the Jita price populates the "Buy" field, I can't properly update my orders with a valid non-Jita, local buy order number. So yeah, it works great with sell orders, but not well with buy orders

Hey Pete, thanks for this software. Seems to be going the right way and actually has the best support ever seen 
I’m encountering a problem while importing cache market data. Whenever I browse the market and then try to import, I get 0 data. Seems either logs can not be found or are not saved at all.
Have seen in Eve Mentat website people were talking about a change in last Eve patch which doesn’t allow anymore to read the market cache log.
Is the problem related / solvable?
Thank you. Cheers.

There's no cache import in evernus. Can you clarify what you're importing and what's the effect?

Hi Pete. Under Market Browser there is a "import prices from cache" button. Currently not working for me (seem no data gets imported).

I've been then using an outdated version (probably a mislink). Not lucky because that was a great feature.
Any suggestion on how to update market prices other than manually export to file? Website data is usually working only for major hubs, not reliable with minor hubs or lonely stations.

CREST works for all stations and it's always up to date.

Ok. Found what the problem was. I actually thought "web import" was from Eve-Central or Eve-Market-Data, not from CREST. Also seemed bugged because was only importing from two regions, not where I had all of my orders.
Found out that actually, I had like 70% of my orders in my private corporation, thus they did not get updated. Fixed it, and seems working greatly!

Thanks Pete for such an excellent program - easily the best of its type I've used :)

OK, heres my newbie question :-

Under the 'Item History' tab, I can pick an item, and in the bottom right it tells me 'Total volume'.

Is there a way to easily see this 'total Volume' for each product I'm selling - without having to use the dropdown to pick each item individually?

(I pretty much only sell manufactured goods. If 'Total Volume' was an extra column somewhere, that'd effectively tell me how many times I'd made that item).

Thanks again

Yes, you can do it using the advanced statistics tab. You can use simple aggregation and group by type, or you can write a script which does that manually.
