Hey-hey! Who know me noticed, I am a little silent. In many respects, that's because the language barrier. Thus I need some help to break it.
If someone interested to help me, or you know someone who would (not necessarily from EVE), please answer. I think if someone just find a time 1 hour in day to talk to me in English with Skype we overcome all the barriers in a month-two.

EVE is greate because of it's multilanguage and multicultural and I want to be it's part.

In return I could try to teach the one Russian. We could talk about movies, games, history and politics, science, EVE experisnce, Russia or any other country. Hope it's not too much trouble.
Thanks in advance. Fly safe o7

If your spoken English is anywhere close to your written English, you are already better than most North Americans.

"Look, lady, I only speak two languages: English, and bad English!"

You might want to try the Out of Pod forum.

Your english seems fine to me as also a non natural english speeker. Maybe it is more difficult to you because russian has different letters from the kyrillish alphabet, but learning by doing.

Btw, you can join several Teamspeak channel and learn english there. That will make you a better spy for your russian alliance. Bear

If you want to learn English to communicate in game using voice.. then yes.. someone to actually talk to is very needed.

Good luck.. that would not be me.

But if you want to improve English for text chat.. then I recommend Google translate.

I rely on Google for all text.. Type in word, translate in Google.. spell and grammar check in word.. paste in forum

My English is understandable early in day but by late evening.. is gibberish.

Be nice. If nice not work, be civil. If civil not work, beat with iron pipe till bloody and still.

I already use google translate to write the posts)) it also helps to impruve pronounce.
If someone interested there is much bigger dictionary multitran.ru. It contains many rare and slang words and phrases.
And also good site http://learningenglish.voanews.com/. it's very helpful. But still... need a live communication)))
Thanks for the answer

here's a tip I give to everyone on that regard

You probably watch tv shows, american tv series and whatnot. Try and find english subtitles for english language movies or shows, this way you'll get used to how the words sound, it'll be a real plus for your understanding of spoken english. From there, it's not very long until you start to speak yourself.

This is how I learned English too.
I almost failed my English classes in school, but when I started watching my favorite TV shows in English with English subtitles it got a LOT better.

I learned English and German by watching TV as well.

Although back then, internet and computers didn't even exist. Bear

I'm born and raised in the US and english is my primary language. I would not say headaches but certainly american TV probably makes me queasy or at least upsets my digestive tract. Maybe if I could get past the ill feeling and watch longer the headaches might set in.
