This. The client instability went up exponentially with Tiamat.

Even docked, trying to "Load planet resources" is killing the client.

I have a problem that has developed since this last release: Session changes between environments cause the game to crash, warping causes the game to crash, looking around the ship in space causes the game to crash, etc. etc. all of these crashes end up locking up my machine to where a hard reboot is necessary.

Can one of you kind folks have a look through my crash logs and please help me out?

Best Regards,

Been experiencing similar issues..

The client suddenly starts to lag making it unusable (till this moment I was fortunate not to loose any assets).

What's even more disturbing, is that the whole system becomes unresponsive even with the client process killed. Only hard reset helps. After the system is back up and running, when I start the client, it's back to default settings (UI, graphics etc.) which makes the game rather unplayable at the moment.

I've tried a couple of solutions (disable all 3rd party apps i.e. browser,/EVEMon/EFT running in the background, clear launcher/client cache and settings, remove launcher folder from game client directory and use the repair tool), but none of them seams to work. I'm currently in the process of client re-installation.

Does issues did not start to appear after Tiamat update do, but after one of the former patches (after a quick glance at the patch notes, I think it was 1.3 or 1.4).

Did find out that by disabling the sound the lag disappeared,
and now after the last repair patch,
the problem seams fixed. Smile

Yeah, we deployed the audio stuttering fix yesterday. I'd like to state that there is a change from our Audio partners we are waiting on, but yesterday's fix should resolve most, if not all, performance and stuttering issues in fleet fights and heavy-load scenes.

I've updated my client to Tiamat 1.5 yesterday and, despite the applied patch, heavy lagging was still an issue.

As said earlier, I plan to perform a fresh client install today and will provide feedback if the problem is gone (or not;)).

Under what circumstances were you seeing the lagging occur?

I can recall three situations for sure:

1. Jumping through gates.
2. Warping.
3. Docking in stations.

OK so these are all session changes, which yesterday's patch would not have had an effect on. Thanks for the info, session changes seem to be a big sticking point at the moment.

You can add undocking to that list.

I've managed to perform a fresh client install yesterday and put in about 1h of solid (resource-heavy) gameplay.

So far so good.. no problems occurred (although I was not able to check gate jumps). Client seams to be working stable and a little bit more responsive then before, but it's still slower (FPS-wise) then the pre-Tiamat version.

I've been having an issue with cloaking recently. Sometimes after you jump through a gate, the cloaking timer randomly restarts - or, in my case as it has couple of times, it sits at full and does not begin to count down until you uncloak on the gate, or it sits at empty and seems fine, but then shoots up to 100% timer once you decloak off the gate.

As a result covert ops is useless for safely going through a hostile gate when this happens.

I took a screenshot this morning; after jumping a gate, I waited out the cloak timer. But then when I went to warp and cloak, the timer reset to 100% and started counting down a second time (if there had been a bubble I'd have been ******).

I've taken a look into this today and haven't been able to reproduce the issue. If it continues to happen could you please submit a bug report from the ingame F12 menu (ideally as soon after the problem occurs as possible).

Chuck my name on there and I'll investigate it further.

Can confirm it happens sometimes. I don't believe it appeared at Tiamat however, probably a bit older than that. I feel like it has something to do with jumping through a gate right after decloaking.

If it happens to me I'll also send out a bug report asap.

Will do :) thanks! and yes this is older than tiamat, it's been happening since the introduction of that cloak reactivation timer.

But it is difficult to reproduce and onky happens once every day or two so it is hard to capture when it does happen.

I'v personally seen this hapen also, but as far as my experiences go, this 'second reactivation timer' apears to be graphical glitch only.

No, I almost lost a Tengu because I wasn't able to recloak after dropping gate cloak (told that I had 2 seconds left on the timer), when there's no way I could have decloaked, jumped, waited out the animation, initiated warp, and recloaked within the span of the 5 second reactivation timer. This has happened twice now. The only possible explanation is a bug, but unfortunately it's rare enough that it's very difficult to repro.

There is another issue with the graphical reactivation timer, but that's completely separate.

I had the same issue a few times in my Blocka Runner. I thought it was because I decloacked, jumped and tried to activate my cloak within recloak delay.

Same here. But it's so rare I don't know how to reproduce this. And it was a graphical glitch only. I was able to cloak while the reactivation timer was shown.
