Why?

Because some 1-man corps plant them at planets to blockade them. And if you wardec them, they just hop to another corp and replant it, or have their main account joining as a defender und roll over you.

The gantries belong to the corp, yeah? So if they jump to another corp you can still kill the gantry from their previous corp right?

Is there some reason you can't plant your own gantry after killing theirs?

P.S: If their joining with their main lets them roll you over, you deserve to get rolled.

It's called a POCO. POCO stands for Player Owned Customs Office. Note the words "Player" and "Owned" in that? All the reasoning you should need right there for needing to wardec someone before shooting their POCOs.

Try getting more friends to take down the ones that are already there, rather than whining on forums that it's unfair you don't get to shoot things without them getting a chance to defend it. Lots of merc corps would be more than happy to shot POCOs for you.

plant the new one b4 they can and if you can't handle the main corp then you need more friends or try another carrier path

But what if he un- and reanchors? Assuming gantries behave like POS modules.

There isn't

I do indeed.

The office itself is fine as it is, that's why I'm talking about the gantry.
I'm *whining* about is the possibility that he could indefinitely dodge wardecs. Still assuming gantries are unanchorable, please correct me if this is not the case.

I don't think gantries are unanchorable. Needs confirmation. The official wiki say: "Note: In an effort to reduce waste, the gantry will be consumed during construction and its materials will be incorporated into the new structure."
