Hi,

Singularity is now updated to include testable features for the Scylla release. This thread is for general feedback, so please use feature-specific threads linked below where applicable, and kindly do not start your own threads on topics.

Mass Tests:
Probably Thursday 5th March [UNCONFIRMED]

Please note that features will come in over time and that the list will not necessarily comprise the entire content of the release.

Fitting Window refactor. Nothing has changed outwardly, but please be vigilant for issues when using the Fitting window.
New Beta 3D Map functionality. (This is an opt in via the Esc Menu, General Settings). People can use Probes in the window now and the functionality should be almost on par with current map.

Team League of Languages
All dungeon objects are now translated into German

Team Trilambda
Simplified shipwrecks with visual tweaks
Dynamic bounding spheres for animated ships (not a visual change)
Ongoing V3 dungeon asset renovation

Known issues:

Tooltips missing from Fitting Window
Download-on-Demand cache priming for Mac client does not work
Mac clients are currently suffering from many crashes
Steam clients are untested with Download-on-Demand so for the moment, use at your own risk
Drag & Drop functionality for items is not working correctly

Please be aware that all clients will have to download bulk data when they connect to the server. We apologise for the inconveniece. This will be fixed in the update tomorrow.

edit by CCP Habakuk: Please clear your client cache, if your client is still downloading bulkdata each client start.

Can you elaborate? If it's the warning about pre-release version then you can just continue. If it's not, please can you show a screenshot or log file.

I got a message asking if I wanted to prime the cache, does that mean remove it explosively or something else?

The shared cache extraction is very, very slow it seems. Fairly modern desktop machine. It took about 25 minutes to fully extract.

It means do you want to prime the shared cache (ie: where the download on demand will download to) with the stuff files you already have in your build.

Fair enough. It was pretty smooth going into the game and loading the station, too. Also ...nice new loading bar. :)

Well. It was not the best idea to first start the repair.exe. It deletet all of my stuff files in my singularity Directonary.OopsOops
But anyway now i can test the whole DoD.Big smileBig smile

i just get microsoft windows error saying that program launcher.exe stopped working

error appcrash launcher.exe_unknown etc. launcher logs show notthing because launcher dont even try to start it just give exe error and quits. its after the launcher update.

to play singularity i use TQ copy and renamed to singularity , using shortcut with --args /server:87.237.38.50" .
after i started launcher there was some launcher update after it was done launcher quitted , i started it again to get an error. so launcher is not launching because of exe file error.

downlaoded the DoD testing it but that is completly replacement for regular client? or we stilll can play using old one?

Ookay. Report from the unsupported (namely linux) camp here.

Clean prefix.

When using windows 7 as windows version, the launcher shows it's window and then segfaults.
When using windows XP as windows version, it does not ask anything about priming anything. It warns it's a pre-release version, and upon clicking YES it primes the cache in the default location (though progress bar is completely out of whack).
When clicking on the settings button it segfaults.

That being said, after priming and launching, it does work. It starts the client and says "Acquiring bulk data", then loads login screen and it works from there.

On the first run it downloaded something like 650mb (together with initial priming).

However on each subsequent run it says "Acquiring bulk data" and counts to 195 again downloading I think 100MBish of something. I wonder if it's intended.

PS: drag'n'drop in inventory is completely broken. Well. Not completely per se. You still can drag things in the index tree part, but anything in the main window can't be grabbed.

probably has to do with the "press settings segfault" (happens after I press the button)

I am afflicted with the same thing that Amak Boma is, try to use the launcher and it pops up the error message before it can even try doing anything. Selecting "Ok" just causes the "program has stopped working" error and selecting "Cancel" closes the error and enables loggin but the launcher doesn't patch.

There is on my Desk, a Plastic Cat, Who goes by the name of Herman.

New brackes seem to be not properly centered in the according field in the overview. Smaller brackets appear slightly offset to the right.

And panning in the new map is back Smile

After downloading the latest SiSi update the EVE client fails to launch and crashes with this error (this the Mac client under OS X Yosemite):

Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000

Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSImageCacheException', reason: 'Cannot lock focus on image «NSImage 0x72e40ef0 Size={0, 0} Reps=(
)», because it is size zero.'

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I foresee many, many people whining that the changes "aren't enough" on a couple of the 'warm' issues, despite the reality that it's better to make multiple small iterative changes than singular massive changes.

My sympathies in advance to the teams who have to slog through the mire of such repetitive comments.

Edit :: Considering the changes announced in the o7 show, I would definitely say it's time for me to eat crow with this post.

Yeah, it seems like the latest update broke the Mac client completely. My apologies. Oops
We'll look into details tomorrow.
