Here's the latest EVE Probe installer:

  • Fixed an issue with version reporting when posting results
  • Reduced the number of ship types shown in the indirect lighting scene, to improve load times
  • Added a button to copy results to clipboard

Do we still have to use the installer or will the launcher update itself now?

In this case you will have to use the installer - hopefully we won't have to update the launcher frequently in the future.

Avira steps in during installation.

The file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE Probe\launcher\eveprobe.exe'
contained a virus or unwanted program 'TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen7' [trojan]

I'm guessing it's a false positive.

We've had a look, and this is a false positive. We are working on getting that fixed.

will this fix the optimus setting for laptops with an intel graphics chip and nvidia card in the future for eve online ?

My eve client still only sees the intel 4600 and not the gtx 860m videocard as the display adapter under the esc menu What?

Eve online is :

A) mining simulator B) glorified chatroom C) spreadsheets online

D) CCP Games Pay to Win at skill leveling, with instant gratification

Is there a way to determine why EVE Probe might not be launching? I've looked at Event Logs and nothing shows up. I install it, and go to launch it but nothing happens. The exe simply fails to do anything. I get the spinning blue wheel Explorer shows when it's doing something, but after about 5 seconds it disappears... and zilch.

The installer was prompting to close the IPoverUSB windows 8 service before installing

Somebody at CCP defined a dependency wrong....
