Confusion of YC year on news items ??

The link reporting the upcoming elections on the Gallente Federation indicate YC116, but i think its YC117

May 2003 was the release of eve online to the public, it was year YC105 on the eve timeline at that moment.

Today is January 2015, which means 12 years since launch, it should be YC117.


Also, evelopedia used to have a page for earch year, it hasnt been updated since YC114

The only YC116 I see mentioned in the article is the date of the detection of Caroline's Star by capsuleers, on YC116-11-26 ("November 26th YC116"). Which was... last year, and thus, correct.

So, unless the article now says something else than it did before...

Yes, current year is YC 117. NOT 116. Last year was 116.

There is a frequent error in years cropping up, both among players and devs. Several of the new anniversary items released in the end of December listed last year as 115, when it was 116.

As can be seen, the announcement in December last year, noting the upcoming elections, lists this election as the election of YC117.

yes my bad, incorrectly linked the date of caroline's star to the election
