Looking at other companies' legal TOS regarding uploaded content, there are some consistent terms.

- you, as the uploader, must be the copyright holder or have written legal permission from the copyright holder to the IP being uploaded
-worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license are the basic legaleze terms.
-ending of said licence (due to deletion of accounts, etc)

That said, the 4 companies I looked at have each been subject to litigation, past and current, for use of IP uploaded by users.
I don't blame CCP for it's diligence, as I doubt they have the deep legal resources of any of the companies I surveyed.
They could simply say 'no', and be done with it.

I have had to deal with this sort of stuff in one of the companies i once worked for many moons ago. It is compounded by 2 serious factors. Different countries, and in some of these countries you don't know the interpretation of the law until the court case is finished. Just that alone is expensive.

Sure you may think that something like irrecoverable whatever whatever is simple enough. But that is because you don't get $100 to explain why that won't work....

Exactly. Unless you are a lawyer and have actually delt with this issue, you really have no clue if your little idea will work or not. You are essentially like the eve player who thinks he has this brilliant idea, but once posted on the forums, experienced players rip it to shreads and shows why its wrong. For all we know, there might be a loophole or some odd law someplace dealing with ccp having a license to use said logo vs. owning it.

In this regard, i'll side with a team of lawyers opinion then the opinion of some random eve player with prolly no legal background thank you very much.

The point is they have had ONE DAMN YEAR to do this dude. How much more time do ccps lawyers need to resolve this? 1 more year? 2 more years? Whenever they get around to fixing POS legacy code? After the Isktar nerf?

This is the point. Ccp stopped updating us 6months ago and lawyers been at it over ONE YEAR. Get new lawyers ****

Yeah, us being angry that CCP is reversing a stance they've held for years and making a mad grab for our intellectual property is definitely a tantrum. Yeah, there's no way that anger is actually justified or anything.

And who are "these guys"? Goonswarm? This isn't just a Goonswarm issue. This isn't just a CFC issue. Almost everyone who has a current alliance logo in the game or is trying to submit one is angry at CCP over this idiocy. Brave Collective still doesn't have their alliance logo in the game because of this idiocy. This isn't entitlement, it's a company that's treating us like children.

Read your CSM winter minutes again they are purging all submitted logos and requiring you to re submit. Maybe you don't understand the issue?

And at the summer summit CCP came to the CSM with a proposed plan and csm (your so called yes men) raised some issues. At witch time CCP went back to their lawyers to adjust their plan to address those issue

Because lawyers get paid by the hour and they haven't made enough money yet

CCP said at the summit that they are just waiting on the rendering group to address displaying logos in game that's where the hold up is currently
