Sovereignty limit...

So crazy thought of how to limit Alliances from getting so big they own half of Eve's 0.0 space...


...how about limiting alliances to just one region of 0.0 space?

This would mean that;

..they could not make so much money from renter corps..

..smaller alliances could have a chance of taking over alliances...

...there would be more activity and pvp going on in 0.0 due to regions being fought over...



... I'm sure other people could think of more but I'm tired after a crap day at work.


What other 'mad' ideas do you lot have to make 0.0 more competitive and fun?

Workaround: Split your holding corp into several corps in several alliances, each holds one region of sov, all blue to the main alliance corps and red to the enemies.
Now we have the exact same situation, only its more tedious. The game should be less tedious. If you want to bring down a big coalition of alliances then all you have to do is gather up a huge group of people willing to fight on your side, then gather up all the resources to build titans, then slog it out with timers until the enemy pilots loses morale and stops showing up in sufficient numbers, then you take a killing blow where you hellcamp the enemy staging system and then you put the system in a 1 man corp's control so no one else can dock there and retrieve the lost assets.
But if you don't want to put the work in to do this, why should you be able to limit the growth of coalitions and alliances just by game-design alone?

I believe this would prove useless, the big null blocs are held together by coalitions that are not part of the eve game infrastructure. That is, Your idea is too small, because these groups are larger than the designers scope at the implentation of the current system. These blocs are alliances of alliances. They would still be there, just under more names if they had to do it so. They are the best at taking advantage of systems and bending every change to benefit. This would be no impediment

Wouldn't change anything unless you somehow made it impossible for entities to work together, or have multiple holding corps. Since both of those are impossible in the current state of the game, this change would amount to only a slight increase in irritability for the unfortunate soul who draws the short straw in management of Sov holdings.

Besides CCP is going to neuter coalitions by making it tougher for them to hold large regions of space and only having to show up for a single of three timer fights. They already started this process with the Jump Fatigue system, when they implement the "stay at home, or lose your ****" provisions, stuff like the CFC or N3 won't be as feasible.

My corp has a wicked awesome super neato idea on this:

We undock and shoot people.
Sometimes it goes LOL bad, but we still have fun.

Putting a limit on sovereignity would break the whole sandbox part of the game I think.

I thought this game is a sandbox in which the player make the most of the rules not CCP. But what the hell, alliances are to big make a timer, they are still too strong cut them in halfs.

Get your ass up and stand in the way. The big alliances where player build, so a player should destroy them and not CCP. !!!

use the search function and you would know that this idea won't work as people would just make more holding alliances

the people answering have seen eve for a while in some cases. The break down to several alliancs is not a far fetched point made by the "bitters". It only make organizational aspects harder, not impossible.

The working model would be provi blob of old probably.

They to live in 0.0 but not be the "blob" had ways to handle red and blue lists as it were (iirc the called them kill lists for open season targets). They were kind of effective. Past provi experiments only failed, imo, because of nbds (nuet scouting and such set them up the bomb long story short, a few times). Which if I understand correctly they learned from and stop doing that so much and got a bit more aggressive in this area.

Yes, corp application fatigue !! Accept new members too quickly and you can't do it anymore for 1 month!!!
