If there are any errors / missing elements in the following I would appreciate to hear.

Ignoring alliance standing you have 6 different standings with NPCs (when not in a corp that is in an alliance you will not see the 3 alliance standings at all, NPC corps are in their faction alliance and displays 9 standings, but only the 3 towards yourself matters).

NPC's Faction -> PC Corp:

  • For empires, lets the corp join FW when above 0.0*.

NPC's Faction -> Player:

  • Can be used to unlock agents (modified).
  • For empires, lets the player join NPC militia if not negative (UNmodified*). Not needed for PC corp in FW*.
  • Higher lowers broker fee at stations (UNmodified).
  • If it gets really high, some factions give you ship BPCs (modified*).
  • Blocks agents at -2 (modified).
  • They shoot at you at -5*.

NPC's Corp -> PC Corp:

  • Can be used to access Jump Clones.

NPC's Corp -> Player:

  • Can be used to unlock agents (modified).
  • Can be used to access Jump Clones.
  • Higher lowers broker fee at stations (UNmodified).
  • Lowers tax on reprocessing in corps stations, 0% at 6.67 standing (modified).
  • Block agents at -2 (modified).

NPC -> PC Corp:

  • No use at all.

NPC -> Player:

  • Can be used to unlock agent (modified).
  • Block agent at -2 (modified).

For any math, details or wall of text elements, see the next post.

*: Untested.

*EDIT* Added reprocessing tax. Added FW. Added note about when in NPC corporation.

Some more details about the individual elements.

All the NPC standings towards PC corp is the average of players that have been members of the corp for at least 7 days, the average is calculated every day during DT. The average is taken of the standing before skills like Connections is applied.

Agents refer to normal agents.

Epic Arc, R&D, COSMOS etc agents can have further demands. Being a locator agent does nothing to standing requirements.

Each agent unlock when you don't have a -2 block and have at least the following in either of the standings that unlock agents:

Required Standing for level:
Level 1: None, also ignores block.
Level 2: 1.0 standing.
Level 3: 3.0 standing.
Level 4: 5.0 standing.
Level 5: 7.0 standing.

The special standing requirements for each R&D agent is in their attributes in game.

Block: The agent will actually display effective standing -2.0 already when personal/corp standing reaches -1.9, you can still use the agent as your actual effective standing can be based on faction. The agent will display -2.1 when they block (-2.01 actual personal/corp standing. -2.00 corp standing doesn't necessarily block, but impossible to say if that was really -1.999. Based on test 2015-01-14).

Formula for brooker fee: BrokerFee % = (1.000 % – 0.050 % × BrokerRelationsSkillLevel) / 2 ^ (0.1400 × FactionStanding + 0.06000 × CorporationStanding)

Ship BPCs from faction standing: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Cosmos_faction_ship_offers

*EDIT* Reformatted and clarified agent standing. Added what PC Corp standings is. Added block test details. Added note on locator agents having no special demands.

Afaik it affects reprocessing and I think I have 2-3 corps from which to draft L4 missions I barely run. I believe this lead to being able to make JC's somewhere in nullsec but pfff... effort... I copy myself at a Rorqual from time to time so it doesn't really affect my gameplay that much. I borked a lot of standings by shooting NPC corp dudes as well.

At 10.00, you get that warm fuzzy from bragging you have 10.00 with someone.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

"It" refers to "NPC standings" in general.

OP - Next post, why don't you rehash how to rapidly raise security status. Also, I'd love to see a laundry list of the penalties suicide gankers must endure while they carry out their lonely tasks adding content to EVE Online.
Thank-you in advance.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

You get to watch female mission agents talk to you in a manner that you could only dream of in RL.

I don't think anybody has ever been exhilarated to see me. Ever.

Since they removed standings requirements for POS's, the only "real" reason to even bother with high standings anymore is jumpclone access, since it requires individual corp standings and not just empire standings.

Shame, I used to make a boatload with corp standing services. But CCP killed an entire career off. :(

You can join as a solo player or a corp.

As a solo player you need unmodified (before social skills) player-faction standings better than 0.0. Once you join you will leave your current corp and be in a NPC FW corp.

To join a whole corp you need corp-faction standings better than 0.0.

Thank you. Think I got it but need to test if a new player with no faction standing can join FW, or if they need to have above 0 standing.

*EDIT* Test done, you can sign up as a new character with no standings.

+1 on locator agents.

Also the actual effect on broker fees is 70% based on faction and 30% based on corp standing.

Being a locator agent does nothing to standing requirements that I know of, what is it you want me to add?

Biggest error I can get from the listed formula is well within rounding of the number of digits I can see my standing with. If you have an example where it is off, please share.

Personally, I just collect them, though I wish they had more usefulness.
