Give anchorable bubbles a minimum distance from stargates

The reasoning behind this suggestion is the number of gates around New Eden that are absolutely covered in bubbles, sometimes hundreds of kilometers deep, that have been placed to vastly reduce the risk that ratters within those systems face.

By adding a minimum distance that they can be anchored from stargates, this form of passive defense is prevented. Push and drag bubbles obviously wouldn't be affected by this, and the vast majority of active gatecamps use either interdictors or heavy interdictors to provide the bubbles.

So how far away should this minimum distance be?
My proposal would be 15KM + the radius of the disruptor in question. Ships will be able to warp off, unless the gate is being actively camped, in which case it is the same as any other gatecamp and it would be up to the individual players abilities to get away.

Just an idea I thought of after jumping into yet another system where there were so many bubbles on the gate that they completely filled my overview.

Point me to a thread with this exact idea please?

Besides, there's no rule about repeat threads.

Confirmed ratter?

EDIT: What a suprise, a member of PBLRD against an idea that would make ratting slightly less safe...

Aren't the 100km deep clouds of bubbles petitionable?

I'd find it better if they just expired after 24 hours or even faster.

no to minimal range and no to expiry if there is an unreasonable amount of bubbles on an empty gate you can petition CCP to have them removed.

yes they make systems safer but they also take a bit of prep and give a false sense of safety get a covert fit T3 ignore the bubbles and drop a cov ops fleet right on their ratting heads

I would support increasing the cost of the bubbles 4-6x that way if someone blows them up it costs you a measurable amount of ISK instead of being super cheap.

Other than that... if you want to catch ratters in a super bubbled system they make these ships which get an immunity to bubbles for this reason exactly...

You can petition it but doesn't seem its high on the list of things to be dealt with (not really surprising). Generally its not too much of an issue but sometimes when you can barely see for overlapping bubbles its annoying - I've run into more than 1-2 that are literally 200-500km in every direction and up to ~200 on grid.
