Issue with playing from multiple computers

The computer that is rightfully mine gets very low FPS so I play on a roommate's newer computer whenever I can. I do, howver, play on both.

Other than the annoying fact that settings changes are computer specific, not character, the market quickbar is the same. This seems like it will be unbearable long term. Before I dwelve too far into trading (it's only my 4th day) does anyone know of a way to keep gameplay preferences over any computer, i.e. specific to a character and not computer? Doing everything twice seems ridiculous if there is an easier solution.

You can port over the overview settings. However I have never tried to port over the cache / general settings. Test it and see if it breaks I suppose. The default setting / cache folders are found from,

Turn down your graphics settings if you haven't already. You can significantly reduce FPS/lag issues with lower settings. I run on an integrated graphics card and it does fine.

You can copy most setting over using the files.

Location is
C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility

Files are
core_char_12345.dat - Char settings
core_user_12345.dat - Account settings
core_public__.yaml - General settings (seems to be mostly login/graphics)

Be aware that EVE logs a unique ID for every computer you login with. CCP do ban for account sharing, and perma-ban for client modification.

I'm very paranoid since my perma-ban of all accounts (reversed, obviously), so I don't touch EVE files anymore, for any reason, not even to backup.

Personally, I'd do an in-game petition and ask if it was okay to backup / restore those files, and:
* Leave the in-game EVE-mail response in your EVE-mailbox forever.
* Copy the response EVE-mail out-of-game (copy with CTRL-A CTRL-C and paste with CTRL-V), so you can access it without logging-in.
* Archive any regular E-mails (SMTP) with CPP.
This is in case you ever have to petition a ban. Tell them to check your in-game mailbox for the message (tell CCP the GM name, title, date, time).

But that's just me. I even get nervous now copying the EVE folder to access SiSi. Shocked
