Quick question about trying to find a "good" corp to join

Greetings fellow capsuleers I'm going to make the most of my boredom, and give the game of eve a good try to play. Now my questions are as follows.
1. I mostly do mining and industry. but not against combat just not too skilled. what would be the "best" way to get into the game (all facets) should I make a character and just mess around with the different tutorial missions? or are the tutorial missions for all the agents after aura even necessary at all?
2. I hope to find a corp willing to train new players but am willing to be flexible with what job I do (one run I'll do frigate combat work/ next I'll do mining/ next I'll be a R&D guy/ hauling/ anything)? What corps would be best suited to this?
3. If I need advice/tips to fit my ship for the currently assigned role how willing would the guys in my corps be to give the needed information?
4. How long would be the baseline for getting the best feel for the game? 1 month/ two/ 4? only reason I ask is the 14 day trial is no where near enough to even scratching the surface.
I probably will have tons more questions you can contact me in game by eve mail or convo and by pm here on the forums. Also I learn quickly but my math skills are horrible so anyone who wants to help I'll be glad to accept any and all advice and hope to see and talk to many in game

1).you can do it all on your main or you can do another one , entirely up to you.
If you have an assets in space though these might become a target so that's something to consider if you're thinking about setting up a pos .
the best way would be to find a Corp with aligning goals and interests to your own.
the tutorials aren't strictly necessary if you're joining a Corp but we always advise to do them anyway as they give you free stuff and relevant skills books.

2). Im certain that by the time iv finished typing this someone will have linked you nightcrawler's guide to finding a Corp, if not I'll dig it out, it's a good read.

Edit: as promised, https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=331341&find=unread

3). Provided you're not a belligerent arse , your Corp mates should be very willing to help you out when they can.
Newbros are the life blood of this game and we all know it,
but moreover,
with a bit of guidance a newbie will be just as dangerous as a ten year vet if they engineer their circumstances favorably.

More often than not a good Corp will enable you to fulfill the roles they need you to, be that with ships, modules, skillbooks and advise (all within reasonable limits of course).

Iv been playing for nearly two years now and I still feel thick as pig **** compared to some of the lads I play with,
iv only only been PvPing the last six months or so but in that time iv learned more about the game than I had since my trial.
we are the content in eve and this will become apparent once you get involved so it's difficult to give you a time frame, I'll say, however long it takes is determined by you more than anything, there veteran players here who obviously still don't get eve.

Feel free to contact me in game if you like (I may be buisy but if I have the time I'll readily talk to you).

Welcome aboard

I suggest you look for a combat oriented corp if you at at all interested in doing combat. A lot of combat pilots have industry alts to dabble with on the side. You can always pick it up later on if you decide combat isn't your thing. It's surprising how useful combat knowledge is when dealing with the market and choosing items to produce and sell. However, industry skillpoints will not benefit you in combat, so if you spend months training up to build carriers you will still be limited in your combat options.

Don't worry about low skills. New pilots can be useful in combat with very low skill points as disposable "tackle" to grab targets and hold them for the fleet. As you get more experienced and your skillpoints stack up you become less disposable and you can transition into other roles.

Whatever you do, do it with people. Don't get paralyzed by trying to find the perfect corp. Do some research, talk to some people, and make an intelligent decision, but don't hesitate to actually join a corp and try it out. If it's not the right group for you then you can always try again with a different corp. It's best not to have a million corps on your employment history but it's expected that you may need a few tries to find a group you fit well with. So go get started!

I can and will recommend my current corp BNI. If you want to do different things we basically do it all and have PvP fleets up constantly. On the reddit there are posts about exploration, industry, mining and a lot of PvP. If you want PvE then we fly ratting fleets regularly and provide free vexors. We also give out free frigates for PvP and skill books for training. I'm currently doing some exploration and really enjoying it. If industry is your thing our home system is always under-stocked with PvP fits and profit margins are quite large.
