Tactical overlay in light years on the star map

Since how far one can jump has become something of an issue of late, and as we have tactical overlays for the grid and solar system in AUs, how about one in light years for the star map?

Just an idea.

Seems like it shouldnt be TOO hard, and it does sound like something thats usefull for a big portion of the playerbase...

I guess.....

I really doubt they would be able to build in enough information and functionality to make me ever consider using an in game interface instead of all the functionality of Dotlan.

-1 On already having alternatives, and that whatever CCP creates likely will not incorporate all the massed information available at my fingertips on Dotlan.

The one for the solar system already exists on TQ and if you go though some options you can look at the scan range to veit a planet and as nothing can go over 9ly you can gage what systems can be jumped to with ease at the cost of having stars not be a more normal statistic or whatever you prefer.

they already have it set up to see if your ship has a JD so it shouldn't be to hard to implement this

The star map is pretty full whether it's flattened or not - my concern would be building something that's readable. If they can make this "tactical overlay" useable and able to co-exist peacefully with the star map as it already is (although that might benefit from a little optimization too), then +1.
