Suggestion: ICON Color Change on Station Services
Keywords: ui, stations
Note: Help identify which station services are offline

When station services are offline because someone attacked them, the icon should change to a different color, maybe RED!

Here is a screenshot of what I mean:

More blink filters for the wallet, please. For example, I'd like it to be able to blink when someone buys from or sells to my order, but NOT whenever I just update the order by a few ISK. Other options (blink on balance change, for example) are a nuisance when you pay POCO taxes or get bounties etc.

It just occurred to me that I can program custom buzzes and tones for my phone in response to particular events, so how cool would it be if the UI took advantage of the default grey icons to allow not just on/off filters, but different kinds of blinks or even notification tones? Maybe nothing for bounty payments, but a quick "sparkle" animation for a market sale, or a dimming for a major expense, etc. You could even use color that way: blue for deposits, red for withdrawals, but (say) only from the corp wallet.

I'd like a hotkey that I could hold to toggle Overload on/off for a module or stack of modules I click.

Command:
Toggle Overload on Selected module

Shortcut
ctl+o (for example)

I could hold that hotkey (programmed mouse button) and click all the modules I like.

I don't know if this has already been asked for:

Please make crystals that have already been used showing their damage also when docked / not fitted crystals.

For example now: I have e.g. 50 used multifrequency crystals in my inventory. And there is no way for me to see which of them are on pair with the taken damage.
So i would need to try all of them... note it and sort them away... it's a mess.

If i could see the damage i just could pick 4/8/whatever crystals with the same or similar damage.

As a capsuleer often flying a variety of ships and fittings,

I would like a faster way to select ships and fittings

So that I spend less time docked and more time pew pewing.

Note: at present, I have to switch to a ship (I might have a large collection of ships to peruse), navigate the saved fittings window (which I already have docked with my plethora of chat windows), select the saved fitting of interest, and click "Fit". It would be awesome if simply dragging the saved fitting into the hangar would activate an appropriate hull (selecting first from assembled ships, then packaged ones) and apply the fitting.

As a player with many chat channels open

I would like a better way of arranging channels on screen

So that I don't spend so much time after logging in rearranging windows simply because I collapsed one set of docked windows before I logged out last time.

As a player with many chat channels open

I would like a better log-in experience that didn't log me into the game and then delay displaying anything or accepting input until all chat channels were opened

So that I can log out in space without fear of being killed before I even have a chance to see what is happening, the next time I log in.

Context for those following at home: if you have a couple of dozen chat windows open, the game will log you in and leave you staring at a black screen while it opens each chat channel, one at a time. In high latency (such as is always the case in Australia) I am left staring at a black screen for upwards of two minutes.

Suggestion: switch fittings buttons

With the advent of the isboxer ban, the ability to manually switch fittings becomes fairly difficult across multiple accounts. while it is very simple to get isboxer to not replicate commands so a ban does not get incurred. digging though fittings will become extremely time consuming. Having an option to save to a ship that does something along the lines of check if you are in range of fitting services (or only becomes an option if you have fitting services open) and have say 3 saved fitting buttons would be great. That way Instead of digging though context and cascade menus the user can just press say

Turtle
travel
combat

and have it automatically swap out the fitting for the hot one.

Suggestion: A custom category on the Chat Channel Window
Keywords: chat, channel, communication
Note: There are established categories, however it would be great to be able to sort the player channels into a quick access "Favorites" category.

I have to make links for each channel and keep a note so I can click on the link for the channel I want to join. It would be great if the chat channel window allowed me to store my favorite channels in one easy location, without having to make a link, or dig through every channel I have ever joined. It seems like this is what the chat channel window was originally intended to do anyway.

Suggestion: If I click on a players name on my fleet watchlist, let the player's ship be selected on my screen if he is on grid with me, similarly as if I clicked on his name on my overview.
Keywords: fleet watchlist
Note: If I need to check where is a pilot from my watchlist (for example when I anchor on someone), I have to target him. It would make the life much easier to just click on his name, and check where his ship is.

Suggestion: Consistant Organization of Materials Needed on T2 BPC's

Keywords: Industry, Research, T2 BPC, Blueprints, Organization, Materials

Notes: The materials lists for T2 BP's are not in any order -- Components, Items, Planetary Materials, and Minerals. Please choose one order for these lists and stick to it. Having them in any random order may make it easy to miss a crucial set of parts for the final product. Plus it just looks sloppy.

Suggestion: Add a "Show System on Map" to the right click menu of objects in that system
Keywords: UI Map Menu

Notes: On the right click menu for a solar system there is an option to "show system in map" which takes you to the map and centers around that system. It would be useful if this menu option existed for objects inside the system such as stations, planets, moons, etc. This would allow links to the object (mission objectives, chat links, notes) to bring up the map for a quick location and routing reference.

Suggestion: Add the selected object to the system compass
Keywords: UI, navigation

Notes: It would be extremely handy if the selected object would appear in the system compass around the capacitor. It would allow to judge where I would align to while I could focus on something else in my main view.

the navigation info at the top left of the screen has been buggy and inconsistent since it's introduction.

http://puu.sh/d7QFL/d1c39489fa.jpg

it minimizes itself, flickers - it's real messy. if you travel around you'll see that the amount of information this window shows varies wildly; i find myself closing and opening it multiple times for it to show everything i want to see (which moon i am at etc).

increasing the consistency of this so that it remembers your preferences would be a great quality of life improvement in my opinion. i want all the information shown all the time and it's a real headache to use in it's current state.

one other quality of life improvement i'm sure every alliance in the game would appreciate: being able to mass-fit ships. additionally, if fits could save information about modules and items in the cargo that would be excellent too.

thanks 4 reading.

EDIT: please add a button to 'strip roles and kick in 24h'

Speaking of the navigation info, which I agree does minimize itself at random and needs fixing:

The icons for the systems in a route have a tooltip. You know, this one. I think it would be neat to have the configurable option to display some map data in that tooltip. Example: Ship kills, jumps etc.

  • Suggestion: Introduce "green boxing" in addition to the current "yellow boxing" & "red boxing"
  • Keywords: targeting, yellowboxing, friendly actions, remote repairs, greenboxing
  • Note: Currently not possible to determine who has you locked vs who is giving you reps/sensor-boosts/etc.

---

It would be neat to see who's giving you reps/sensor boosts/etc vs who just has you locked. Having more information about your surroundings (esp. your fellow fleet members) is always better Blink

One practical use would be for a headshotted FC who was meant to be perma-locked by his logis during big fights... he'd know if he genuinely got alpha'd off the field by the enemy, or his logis didn't react fast enough.

A few things I thought would be nice after seeing gameplay from other MMOs

-Make all celestials and stations graphically larger

When I first started the game, I always thought you'd be able to manually pilot your ship through this cavernous interior manuveuring to the different hangars/market/industry sections to do stuff. Now with the prototype WASD controls on the test server (which are great), You can make stations big enough to actually pilot your ship through.

-Make a new ship (specifically designd for station tugboats) that actually come out and park your ship to the specific hangar you want with an option to default it to a certain one.

Another idea would be to have players that are using the tug to dock are untargetable and, make the tug a destructible npc so if someone really wants to kill you they can blow up the tug, but take agro from the station guns, so not everyone can just pop a guy using the service. Perhaps at least a graphic or cutscene of a ship actually docking/undocking your ship.

-Take the hamster ball off of everything

The game feels like a galactic bouncy house. Why? I want to fly through some really huge asteroid model in space, or glide across the surface of a station, ship, or some of the cool other cool stuff that litters the galaxy.

-Drone eye candy

a. Remake drone models to look like tiny ships with their own moving turrets or launchers, or, make them look like sentries with tons of directional thrusters all over it.

b. Make some kind of graphic that shows drones launching from your ship's bay. I feel a lot of the gallente models feel wasted not seeing the hangars actually used, and in a leet setting, pretty lame to see drones just blink on or off like christmas tree lights.

Keywords: Immersion

P.S. What's to stop missle ships from using all the launchers on whatever side of them ship, if it shoots a self-guided missle, and not a hard pointed turret emplacement?

- Suggestion: Make the FW insignias visible even if you leave your FW militia.

- Keywords: FW, decorations, insignia.

- Note: Bling is good. More people might take the chance to join a FW militia if they know that they can show off the latest insignia they achieved even when they've left. After all, you're just kind of in the reserve, not dishonourably discharged (which already is equal to losing the standings with your faction and losing all insignias).
