Made a short video for the cause.

In order to keep this thread on the front page and in everyone's faces, I wrote a little ditty.

I'm a little Ishkur short and fat
here is my lance and here is my gat
when I get my drones out, time to dance
See-see-pee don't snip my lance!

I'm glad about the changes. Sensor array looks a lot better than any lance.

Kudos to the CCP art team. Good work.

A recovering btter vet,  with a fresh toon and a determination to like everything that CCP does to Eve...

Don't take me too seriously though, I like to tease a bit on the forums, but that's only because I love you...

Well, all of the people in this thread disagree with you, but thank you for the bump.

Point I was making is that CCP have done some pretty good stuff with the model redesigns in recent years starting with the scorpion onwards.

The crucifier was a bit strange though.

I've seen the new models and I like them, they've kept the character of the old models which I wasn't too fussed on as they obviously had medieval influences in them. They are good ships to fly though and from a performance point of view are excellent. The new models are just more Sci Fi.

More 'sci fi'? What does that even mean? Define 'sci fi' please. Is Serenity not sci fi? Or maybe it's a western... or maybe it's both. There's no rule defining what science fiction is and is not beyond a requirement for imagination, not unlike fantasy. It certainly has nothing to do with aesthetics. The new model is not 'more sci fi' at all, because both the new and old are equal parts the result of a science fiction creation.

Love it.

Ishkur/Enyo were the first ships I used for PVP (on a different alt). When I asked what to do was told to "jab em with the pointy end." Oh, and "don't forget to turn on guns, airhead".

Did you miss the bit about medieval influences or are you deliberately trying to misconstrue my post in order to cause controversy. It's pretty clear what I meant, aesthetics aside... The new models are superior in every way.
Case in point that new look dominx looks awesome and I hope it hits the servers soon.

Adapt or die etc.

The ship will fly just as good, with or without the lance.

This is the most ridiculous use of 'adapt or die' I've ever seen used on the forums. I don't think you've even been here long enough to use it for anything at all. Stop trolling, contribute constructively, or go lose more shuttles in nulsec.

Aesthetics are subjective. You're classification of 'superior in every way' is not shared by the majority of people on this thread, people who have been playing far longer than you. It's not just aesthetics we're talking about here either, it's iconography. What would happen if someone decided the Statue of Liberty wasn't aesthetically pleasing enough, and replaced it for one in a bikini instead?

I prefer my spaceships to look more "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" than "sci fi"..... that's why I've developed a certain affection for Black Viking (Minmatar) ships, lately.....

I just love flying shuttles in null sec. It's one of the craziest things you can do. Like I once took a lone Brutix to the Eve gate just for ***** and giggles. Had a couple of good fights too.

Anyone it was a sad loss that shuttle made it all of the way down to stain and back. It will be remembered with honour.

I just take the view that give it a week or two and you guys will have forgotten that the lance was even there.

On balance Eve is a better game today than it was last year and certainly better than it was five years ago. You've got to trust the devs to do the right thing.

I'm happy to keep on giving you guys bumps by disagreeing with you and there's plenty of ship designs in eve that I don't like but put up with, that Crucifier for instance which is clearly and obviously flying upside down.

I'm philosophical about it though so I take the view that as long as the models retain their 'character' when they are redesigned then I'm happy to go with it. The new crucifier looks nothing at all like it's predecessor which is why I don't like it. The new models for the Incursus/Ishkur/Enyo and blackbird retain their 'Eve character' so I'm happy to trust the devs.

I'm also not too impressed with the new condor being a fan of asymmetry and all of that, so that too is a ship that has lost some of it's character and is starting to look just like some generic sci-fi and not eve online.

It's often been said before on these boards, but I'd love to see a situation where you keep the model of the ship you buy. Older designs could then become collectors editions or people could keep on manufacturing them. The market could then decide which one is best and most popular either the incursus MK1 or the Mk2 version.

Both versions of the design could have exactly the same stats and performance, just different models.

I don't see why this can't be done.

Personally I think you'd all be better off arguing for this as opposed to trying to get CCP to drop the implementation of a ship model they've already created and are clearly proud of as an enhancement to the game that they feel outclasses the old model in every which way. If they didn't take this view, they wouldn't be deploying it.

Multiple models with the same ship stats is what we all need to be campaigning on, hell even sell them as options in the NEX store.

That would be cool and would end the threads like this that pop up whenever CCP change a ship model as everyone would get what they want.
