Salvager and Tractor Beam as weapons

I imagine fun to use salvargers and tractor beams in this way :

Use a salvager or a salvage drone as weapon, to make damages like module overload
Use a Tractor Beam on a Battleship for tract frigates like death star in star wars (I haven't try it, maybe it's possible ?)

Thanks

Not sure how you would justify the salvage beam as a weapon. Maybe a way to steal fittings from a ship, but then they would probably just blow you apart.

NO to using the tractors as a weapon of any kind I can see far to many ways this could be abused.
Tractor beam those frigs/dessies and then blow them part with ease is just one of them.

And using tractor beam on a Carrier for capture ships ?
Or on a BS for capture drones to scoop in drone bay ?

I don't see the harm in making the salvager harmful to targetted ships, so long as the damage is inferior to all primary weapons systems with similar fitting requirements. It would be very satisfying to be able to shoot back even just a little with my salvaging ship and no doubt very entertaining to the people killing my salvage ship.

As for the tractor beam, I foresee a substantial problem in it applying to ships the same way it does to wrecks/cans. It would end up working like a longer ranged web that would make kiting larger ships almost impossible. I just don't see any way to balance that.

That said, the reverse would be entertaining. A 'pusher' beam based on tractor beam tech that allowed you to apply X newtons of force to target ship at a direction directly inverse with the line of attack. It would make it possible to force open the range of engagement and since it would affect tackle adversely for both parties might not even be as game breaking.

That would just requireall ships needing a good polish before docking...
