How could a hulk with this fit take 12008 damage to die and how long did it survive?

Search completed contracts with my/his name. Made him give me a 30+million isk covertor and 9million isk as ransom. Took awhile to make contract etc so kept shooting his shield down/recharge/shoot shield down yell "hurry with my soon to be new/used covertor!" Took a while to get what i wanted but made 60million isk on it.
