The problem I was having getting my existing signature (which was under 250 characters) to fit was caused by how the new system counts characters. Since you now have to use two returns for a line break, that was adding four characters, plus something else weird going on that I've not figured out yet with how it counts characters.

I got it to link by doing a bit of rewording.

250 characters including counting for formatting/linking/etc code, line breaks, etc., is too small. While I totally understand not wanting huge signatures, the inability for existing signatures to fit without hassle is somewhat irritating.

I do hope you consider raising the limit back up, if not to 500, at least to 350.

interesting thing about the date of birth, it brings some value back to 2003 characters who failed to join NPC corps.

(there's debate when those characters are sold, regarding their value, as their employment history shows nothing)


This is a bit outside of the box, but you're reducing the usefulness of the forums as an intel tool (by removing employment history). again, outside of the box, but a move the other way would include bounties or war dec functionality in the forum interface.

The notifications are simplified a bit much, imo, but I feel you. The new interface is easier to grope with a smartphone touch screen, and that's just getting with the times.

Hi,

I believe you're mixing up EVE Gate profiles and EVE Forum profiles. The EVE Gate profile still shows employment history while the EVE Forum profile shows more forum related information. Previously you were always taken straight to the EVE Gate profile.

I'll see if we can do something about notifications for phase 2.

Switched back from gallente to default for me some time in the last day. When you update the server it resets. Where did the Dev blog link go? Like the new profile gateBig smile

Is there a way, to fitler out non-english dev posts?
I find it hugely annoying to read german and french. While i do speak german, and can read it fine, i do not understand a word of french.

How do I get to the screen you have linked other than by using your link?

In the old system all I had to do was click my profile link at the top of the page. Now I can't find it anywhere (except via your link). It certainly doesn't appear on my Evegate profile page.

I have been using the Gallente background, like Salpun, and, just like Salpun, it has switched back to default at some point during the past 18 hours (without any action by me). It has always behaved like this since I first started using the forums.

If you're referring to external links / links that should provide warning on oldforums.eveonline.com resulting in a 404, we're aware of this issue.

Only if you specify which forums you wish to receive Dev posts from, regrettably there are no exclusion rules for this search.

Please allow us to clarify, the background settings are in the same location that they have been up to this point, in EVE Gate. They have at no point been moved from your EVE Gate profile settings. What you're experiencing however is that we've decoupled the forums mostly from EVE Gate with the only setting remaining there, that can affect the forums, is the custom background.

Current route to change background:
1.
    a) Hover over EVE Universe
    b) Visit your or any forum profile
2.
    a) Click on EVE Gate
    b) Click on "View EVE Gate Profile"
3. Hover over your character name ( EVE Gate header )
4. Click on Profile Settings
5. Click on Personalize
6. Choose a background
7. Save settings

Ok, thanks. That isn't quite how I remember it, and considering I've been doing it on an almost weekly basis I'm sure my memory isn't faulty.

Anyways - setting it is one thing, keeping it is another thing entirely. Could you please fix it so that the background persists until any future adjustment?
