How good are the Graphics ?

If I was going to post a thread about how great the visuals are in Eve it wouldn't be too difficult. A large array of ships that you can zoom up the detail on as far as your graphics card can handle it, a scaled universe that you can travel to, every system comprising planets and moons of those planets ect ect.. Once you have been playing for a while you become a bit more immersed in the logistics, ship fitting, tactics and character development. It got me thinking though, none of that is what a new player sees. What areas of the graphics are beyond improvement and what ares do we think, that doesn't look quite right or is that really how lore intends to explain that away ? Which areas are not scientifically correct as known from modern astronomy ? if per chance a player is aware of such things ? Which are spot on ?

Are the visuals getting seen or are we just seeing red crosses ?

Can you really warp to the sun ?
Can you really warp through the middle of planets / Stations ?
Why is there really a giant analogue TV Ariel floating in space that helps you go places ?

For every game there is that sink or swim moment when a new player is going to give it a chance to prove itself, many might say the main problem is that existing players are so powerful they just bully new ones but I would like to stick to topic if we can because I'm sure that one gets discussed a lot on other threads.

Ah nope.

No red crosses Baltec. Unless this is a 'where's wally' kind of challenge to find the red cross.

So, I guess the visuals must be getting seen.

PS. **** me that's a good image.

It's a bit like watching a game from the back row, we have the zoom in function, where's the action replay button ?

If you tilt your head far enough, they begin to look like crosses.

...and there *is* a graveyard in that system now after that battle, and one typically associates crosses with graveyards.

So yes, definitely crosses in that picture, and more content than any pretty picture could paint.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

CREST data can be used to record and replay fights like http://null-sec.com/ did during the latest AT. Check the tournaments tab to see any of the fights in replay.

Seeing the wide range of partially related questions I get the feeling this is not only about the graphics side of the game. Which, imho, are marvellous.
