Note: TL;DR at the bottom.

So.....been about this for a bit. I've seen a lot of forum posts, in-game chatter, etc. about Eve-Lore and how it needs to be a more prominent feature of the game. To make EVE feel more like a dynamic world with things happening, events going on, etc.

Recently....a lot of this stuff happens in dev blogs etc. rather than in-game, and so it feels very disconnected from the in-game experience (It doesn't make sense to have lore-related content delivered in the same manner as technical patch notes; feels like it's not very connected to the in-game experience).

My suggestion is to remove lore-related dev-blogs etc. from the startup window - and instead, when there is lore-related news (like the recent "Anomalous Materials thing), have it appear in-game in the form of a news window instead that can be accessed via the neocom.

I'm talking about something like this (click here), but with slightly different coloring or style to indicate that it's lore-related in-game news/updates which can be opened from the neocom when new lore-related content has been released.

TL;DR: It doesn't make sense to have lore-related content delivered in the same manner as technical patch notes; proposal is to remove them from the login screen, and replace with an in-game news window. Make it feel like it's actually part of the game rather than part of dev blogs.

And on the billboards and on the tv in CQ. The "world news" should definitely be available in-game doesn't matter how.

I've lost the image now but there was a pic from fanfest of a new form of billboard outside stations; could also be one method. :)
