The fix to logi

Seems to me and with my extremely limited experience that what we really need is some new tactics and strategies for dealing with the situation, instead of crying nerf bat. Maybe it is time to throw out all the old play books, all the old ideas and all the old tactics / strategies and re-thnk the problem from a fresh perspective. Then again this maybe to difficult compared to how easy it is to come here and cry nerf bat.

People have been talking about logi for years. Its really about the only module or ship class that hasnt been looked at. Whenever CCP does these ship changes and stuff, logi and logi modules are always overlooked. I wonder why.

Server/clients already track who is targeting who. Player A is targeting player B then player A and B cannot be targeted by a logistics ship, or a ship using logistics drones.

If you already have logistics targeted on you the instant you try to target another players ship your logi pilot loses target lock and cannot re-aquire.

Might be difficult to work out from CCP's end but this would remove the logi scourge from PvP without making it useless to the rest of the game where it is used and needed like Incursions and some small group low skilled WH players.



So basically, like, a rolebonus towards Logi that says 'If you fly this ship prepare to get some kinda jammed for no reason at all so better just fly a rifter, it's way more fun!'?

Logistics ships were rebalanced already, and nobody really thinks they are broken.

This thread sounds like you have some personal issue with logi, if you wish to achieve some kind of balancing tweaks, you need to try to present arguments that show how they are imbalanced in current PVP meta.

Most of the null leadership and FCs think logi are too powerful.

As for evidence, you cannot kill a super/carrier fleet with subcaps.

Now i dont roll in nullsec but in my personal opinion i dont mind supers needing something bigger to kill then a fuckload of small stuff...

The thing is with most of these "nerf logi" programs is that people always seem to forget that logi get used for alot more then just the pvp aspect. I mean if you make logi to much weaker HQ incursions become unrunnable...

DPS hasn't been looked at in any significant way either. It still works without stacking and applies in the same basic mechanic.
You can't change one without the other or you dramatically change the nature of combat in EVE, and don't actually stop the blob winning anyway.

Might it be too powerful, sure in some situations. But simply axing Logi while leaving DPS as it is is not the way to improve the game. That shortens TTK which in many cases is very short already.
