Hey guys, what happen to those ice fields?

I recall when there were a list of systems where they will always be ice.

but while I was on my way to an ice field, the scanners had shown an ice field in a non designated system. why is this?

When I arrived at the intended system, there were no ice fields......yet the adjacent system had it, and it wasn't even on the list of ice field locations.

what's going on? can someone explain to me why this is? I've been out of the loop for a while.

Please post helpful comments, I've searched the forums and did not find one solid answer.

Once a ice field is mined it, it respawns back in 4 hours in that system. Highsec ice only has 2,500 blocks of ice to be mined. So if a lot of people are mining in the filed it could take 30mins to melt, but if only a few are mining it could take a few hours to mine out.

What system was this and where did you get your info for ice belt systems? Did you look on Dotlan ( http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ )?

I was at Tolle, this system had an ice field...showed on scanner

Tolle does have ice fields in it and I've mined them many times before. Tolle only has one belt in the system, Aydoteaux has two belts in system and Carirgnottin has one belt in system. All ice belts only show on scanner now and not the overview.

Tolle is in Everyshore which has a very heavy concentration of ice including some systems with multiple ice belts -- therefore CODE frequently visits these systems. Make sure you have some tank and/or pay attention. Also, blue ice isn't as valuable as some of the ice in nearby regions.

Among other things of course, like security status, distance from from those systems to your home base or trade hubs, player activity there :)
