Tweak Ice Anomoly distribution

Having set ice systems seems like an anachronism now they've been switched to anomalies. In highsec you have fleets of alts who live in a single system to only undock when one spawns and should you wish to live in a quiet, stationless corner of Null/Low the new jump changes are going to make this an increasing headache.

Am suggesting that say 1/3 of the current Ice anomalies be allowed to spawn in any system, with the remaining 2/3 reserved for existing ice systems. The advantage to living in/claiming such a system remains and the opportunity to be self-sufficient elsewhere is created.

Thoughts?

I'd rather like to see additional spawns in random systems.

Traveling around in Barges and Exhumers is not exactly a pleasant activity, so having to constantly move around with them to find anoms or to fly to an anom is going to be an even greater headache. Or do you eye for stashes of Skiffs in dozens of stations and traveling around in Ceptors? Roll

I'd like to see that the timer is more randomized so the pilot of that alt fleet needs to actively check to see if it's up rather then just set a four hour timer.

Sounds like an interesting idea, however I'm with Rivr Luzade, it'd be better if there were roaming belts in addition to the existing belts.

IIRC anomolies were very specifically limited in number to encourage mining outside of highsec. The suggestion is not to remove ice systems completely, just toning them down in exchange for ice in all the places. There's always ore to mine when there's no ice, right?

Would agree that this would be a logistical challenge for anyone who exclusively mines ice 23/7 but do these people really exist? Should AFK isk for alts stand in the way of this idea I suppose is what you're driving at? You'd imagine anyone working to specifically fuel their towers would make it work regardless.

Traveling around in High sec is not really a problem, it's just bothersome and slow in a Barge/Exhumer. I take it you've read other post about mining in 00 sec that have been floating around the forum lately. People in 00 sec in particular (for my understanding) don't understand the concept of traveling around. Can you imagine their horror?

23/7 ice miners indeed exist. And it would not go away; these types of miners would just camp the still-static systems and rage-raid the field with freighter-orca-10-skiff combos and make it impossible for independents to get some ice from there. Instead, they would have to constantly fly around and laboriously search for belts.

Another problem that I see is that these anoms like to accumulate in systems which are not very well traveled through. If this turns out to be low sec systems, they are stuck there for 7 days until they despawn. Such low sec systems would be impossible to mine, as they would be camped by Elite PVPers the entire time as soon as they learn of them. Roll

Would drive the prices up, good or bad.

Don't think to many would bother looking for them, let alone move equipment around to mine them.
