Create a public billboard / classified ad system that allows pilots to advertise and request other player services.

Description
Billboard / ad system could be used to advertise services related to Industrial, PvE and PvP at different sec levels, such as ore mining & hauling services, production, mercenary contracts, level 4 & 5 missions or null/low sec fleet coordination. Brings together aspects of fleets, industry, contracts, bounties, missions, the market, cooperative and individual game play.

Benefit
1) Create a more intuitive route to creating and accessing fleets, industry, contracts, bounties, etc, through specific player driven outcome based requirements, relating to geography and/or organisation affiliation.
2) Fills the communication gap between formal corp mails and spamming chat channels.
3) Easy to search.
4) More information can be provided on requirements over simple advertised fleets, bounties or contracts.
5) Easier for new players to find player driven content and cooperative game play.
6) Could be used for baiting or cooperation.
7) Creates the potential to drive complex goals more autonomously.

Function
1) Appears as a service within stations, or via the Neocom - Perhaps via Journal once accepted.
2) Visibility could be set by Public, Private: Alliance, Corp, Pilot, Standing and searched the same way.
3) Ads can be categorized to allow for specific search/filter criteria to be used.
4) All Public ads must be region based.
5) Mutual acceptance of an ad task can be automatic or manual.
6) Expiry time could be set.
7) Ads must be editable to amend requirements as needed.
8) Number of posts, cost and duration could be linked to skills.

Examples
Example 1:
Public region based advert for PvE mission player who requires additional help to complete a site. Details could include target audience, location, mission description, fleet requirements, chat channel. Fleet advert or contact person.

Example 2:
Public region based advert for pulling an Incursion fleet together. Details could include target audience, location, Incursion level, fleet requirements, chat channel, start-end times. Fleet advert or contact person.

Example 3:
Alliance region based advert for chasing down local site runners in null sec. Details could include target audience, location, target information, fleet requirements, info channel, fleet advert.

Example 4:
Alliance, non-region based advert for ship building services. Details could include ships available, costs expectations. Process of sale. Contact person/corp.

Example 5:
Corp non-region base advert for small gang roam in the future. Details could include location, fleet requirements, chat channel, start-end times, count down timer. Contact person.

Example 6:
Public region based advert for PvP duels. Details could include location, ship class, ante. Contact person.

Example 7:
Public region based advert for selling kill right contracts. Details could include list of contracts available. Contact person. Provision of additional target information on completion of sale.

Future Development
Future development could involve ranked public jobs and contract based terms. API controlled. Fleets could be automatically created and dispersed (as long as required person is online). Linked to calender entries. Contracts and bounties automatically created and removed based on requirement criteria. Use on mobile devices for accessible coordination. Access codes required. A project planning system could be wrapped around it to help alliances organize and deliver epic works.

In regards to Nimoy's post, The billboards need to be either extremely simple, like a fixed image, no effects applied, or they should 'Billboards for Rent' or a certain number of billboards allowed per grid. Otherwise it'll cause a lot of stress of the user system and the server.

It would be good to see interesting ads show in space, such as the picture posted.

I had foreseen the system to be something that can be accessed in the same way as contracts and fleet invites, but provides an intuitive interface that brings all the other aspects mentioned together in one place with a specific outcome in mind.

CCP would love the idea of Rent as they are always searching for a way to sink isk out of the game.

Yeh stress might be an issue Valkin, true. Although the current bounty system allows players with high bounty to appear on billboards that appear near stargates. So the infrastructure might already be in place and/or able to support it as long as it's simple enough to not strain the server.
