As a note, the developers license is placeholder while on Sisi. We will have that when we go to TQ.

When logging into the developers site if you get told your account is not valid please check you have verified your email address, even if you think you have please double check.

To check if your email address is verified please go to: https://secure.eveonline.com/AccountManMenu.aspx

You should see a green check mark by your email address. If you do NOT see that, go here: https://secure.eveonline.com/EditAccountInfo.aspx and click the Verify e-mail address button.

Then try logging into the developers site again.

If you still cannot log into the developers site, have you paid us at least once with a credit card?

I was starting to get excited!!

But then;
CCP FoxFour wrote:

I don't have a creditcard, and I am not going to get one. Creditcards are (at least in my country) expensive and clumsy in comparison with other (more modern) methods of online payment. Just having one costs me money, even when I don't use it. I have no need for a creditcard so getting one just for this is silly for me, and thus that won't happen Smile

Does this mean I will not be able to get access to this, or is it a temporary requirement? I make and run quite a few applications for my alliance and the features planned for the SSO and CREST would be really really really useful to us!

Why? What reason do you have for requiring a valid credit card for 3rd party development?

EDIT: I did have a credit card assigned to my account but since I started paying with PLEX, that information was removed as I "cancelled" the recurring payment. Are you now indicating that I have to add this information back on for a month and leave it just to see whatever is hidden behind your application management page?

Great work guys! Big smile

Can we maybe have Callback URL setting as a list of allowed callback URLs, so we can use different callbacks for different oauth token request scenarios?

Unfortunately no, if you really do need multiple callback URLs you will need to create multiple client IDs.

There are other options however. We do NOT strip out extra URL parameters. So you could include an extra parameter to indicate a proper redirection. The state parameter is also available.

Having used a credit card in the past should be all you need. Even having just bought a PLEX instead of subscription should be enough.

I think that the reason is quite simple.

If the account you're using has a transaction with a credit card then they can claim that they at least have a theoretical legal ability to know who you are.

Which in turn makes life much easier for the Devs in their conversation with the legal team.

At least that's my somewhat qualified guess ;)

Why is a credit card required instead of a debit card or alternative form of online payment like Paypal? Its a stupid idea.

Debit could work, but not paypal since it's not trackable.

edit: 'legally trackable'

Great, I happen to have a credit card and yes I've paid you with it ...

But I fail to say ANY valid reason why you should demand that I have one so that I can use this site. Not everyone has a credit card, and there are some pretty valid reasons for not having one. Already on day one somebody has hit this issue.

Please explain.

It's very simple.
They want to know who you are before your get full access.
Linking an account to a credit card is the easiest way to do this.

And if they want to have this information out, without having to develop a more complex solution, this is the way.

Turns out the account I was trying to use it on has never had a credit card tied to it. Activated with a GTC and then always "paid" with PLEX. Tried another account that does have a CC linked and that worked fine.

As Kossaw said though, I fail to see any good reason why you're demanding the use of a credit card before being allowed access to whatever dev tools you'll hide behind it.
