Yes, it probably does. We are going to look at this tomorrow to try and make this easier.

Basically we didn't fully think of all the things this would effect before suggesting it, but who cares.

Nope. Decided it was better to get feedback from players as early as possible, rather than trying to spot all the awkward cases ourselves and release a blog at the last minute. So far, it seems to be working.

a shame you didn't do the same thing with the module tiercide ... you guys have screwed that one up royally

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Ya, but good luck projecting force in the distant regions of your sov to protect your renters without being able to use capitals.

We use gates, it doesn't take long to get where we need to be. Also don't forget, our enemies also got nerfed in this.

Just to throw my two cents in, I believe this is a terrible change. Unless null sec would be buff considerably, it would be next to impossible to sustain any kind of local production due to missing low-ends that would need to be shipped in. Sure, the JF and Rorq do not suffer the same "fatigue" as the other capitals, but it creates a larger hassle than its worth. No more mid points through NPC null regions, as most of them are greater than 5 LY from their nearest lo-sec point of entry.

My group operates in npc null. As a small noobish group, we find that jump freighters are too costly to be practical and even if we used rorquals, cynos attract too much attention upon entering lowsec. We've been relying on blops freight (Blops BS, 2 covert cyno characters and a bunch of blockade runners. This is long boring work but by bringing everyone together once a month, it can be completed in an evening, allowing our members to resume roaming, ratting, exploring, trading or whatever else catches their fancy for the rest of the month. This change would mean that our members would have to remain in staging systems for almost half of the month. Also, considering that the risk of hot drops by sov blocs will be reduced, the local alliances with a few capitals will be able to steam roll everything. The sov blocs will still be able to effectively defend their space through the use of multiple staging systems and jump clones. With capitals now able to move through gates, long term deployments can still be set up on the opposite side of the map relatively quickly, with the ability to jump clone/use near invulnerable shuttles (aka ceptors) to return to home systems quick enough to catch any timer.

In short, this nerfs most blops uses and hot drops while not meaningfully addressing power projection, effectively continuing to incentivize large blocs, crowding out small entities and making sov space safer.

To make these changes work as intended:
1. drop the capital use of gates. Capital movement should always be a strategic decision with no workaround.
2. do one of the following: lengthen jump clone cool down to one week; limit jump clones to one or two regions; give us a pos module for clone swapping (shout out to the wormhole community for this jesus feature) while removing clone jumping.
3. reduce blops/covops fatigue by 50% and blockade runner fatigue by 90%.
4. create hardcap on fatigue so jump cool down does not exceed 1 week.

Either the fatigue or the reduced jump range would be a large nerf with emergent effects on there own that reduce power projection.

The problem is combat power projection is interwoven with logistics projection. I know local markets seem like they would be awesome, but you're taking away a super highway and substituting a camel caravan silk road in nerfing logistics projection. Psychologically your players aren't going to be happy with that substitution. You should consider starting with one of the two and going from there. Fatigue hits large groups of combat caps harder than reducing range (large groups could have tons of cynos) so I would start with just range. A decrease in range hits pretty hard because the number of systems in range is a function of range^2.

Also capitals jumping gates is ridiculous and shows how silly the reduced range is that they need gates to cross some regions: cynojammers no longer matter?

looks awesome, huge change to shake up the game a bit, we will adapt of course, but it will be great to see the smaller fights, not just tidi slugfests like there is atm.

B-R and Asakai etc were amazing, once a year~ occurences but despite the whole idea of titans dying on mass, it was 21 hours of painful gameplay, clicking a button every 15 minutes with half the ships completely broken (turrets being irresponsive etc ). The normal subcap brawls are now 1000 man fights with server instability, smaller fleet fights are more fun, requires more skill by everyone.

Literally the shakeup we need in nullsec...

Protect their renters against what ? Sov Flipping ? This does nothing for the long timers which allows them to deploy regardless. Killing their renters ? They don't protect them against that anyway. So not sure what you're getting at.

Initially those changes look promising.
Then what the outcome will be, is harder to tell, eve players tend to behave other ways then expected.

CCP will lose more subscriptions than you know... look at how many super pilots/cap pilots are out there if they unsub its going to hit ccp hard in the wallet.

But on the other hand, how many indy/mining accounts will re-sub because they were being perma-dropped/blop'd and simply got fed up will the silly hotdrop mechanics?

One man's gain, other man's lose.

DONT ALOW SUPAS TO USE GATES!!!!

secondly and more important like:

dont add fatuige to Blackops jumps, there are plenty of factors that already limit Blackops fleet sizes.

just a thaught:
have jump fatuige affect where you land after a jump.

no fatuige: 0 to 5 km (like normal)
V high fatuige: 100s of KMs or even AUs from cyno

Yep it's impossible to smartbomb/bomb interceptors.

it seems you don't know what pipebombing is and have shamed yourself and your family by posting something stupid, and have now decided to double-down by hoping nobody else does either

go home, child

Thanks for eluding my point completely, there is no smartbombing going on in lowsec either because no bubbles, obviously.

Are the tears blurring your vision? Maybe you should get some rest this might be the first case of crying fatigue. LolLolLol
