As someone who remembers the days of freighter convoys, regional wars, 100 man battleship fights that were coordinated and maneuvered, the harsh unforgiving teeth gritting game that was Eve Online I finally, FINALLY have hope that CCP is breathing life anew into this game.

Eve is NOT your epeen meter. Eve is NOT about instant force projection, unabated losses without risk, rental empires without effort. Eve is supposed to BE harsh! So for all of you spoiled space brats crying that clawed to the top to sit fat and lazy upon your throne of untold billions and capital toys to only one day find that you don't control anything, that the environment and harshness of New Eden is coming back to kick you in the ass I say good riddance!

CCP don't you DARE back down or give into the kicking and screaming of those who are now afraid. They fear change to their Empires, their houses made of glass that one day someone would dare to throw a stone and have the whole frail illusion come crashing down.

Fix SOV. Implement these changes. Make Eve what it used to be. Unforgiving. Harsh. Skill based. Risky.

Finally welcome to Eve Online everyone. Enjoy the ride.

Honestly, I don't even fly capitals but the whole idea of cooldowns and slowboating into the destination via gates is just.... wrong. Gate camping is an extremely difficult tactic to counter, and this is just going to prime the system so that whoever gets the camp set up first is going to be damn near unstoppable, and make life in null for pilots that are not part of massive alliances absolute hell.

This all sounds great.

Congratulations to NC. for filling the most buckets of tears...meanwhile Grath is saying its the best thing since sliced bread. Looks like we have our first coalition level disagreement brought about be these changes already.

Stay the course CCP.

NinjaEdit: The cooldown timer should probably be capped at something less than a week...lets keep it reasonable.

Then they can put on big boy pants and fly out there like everyone else did, have organized fleet ops and escorts to move cargo out there like everyone else did.

0.0 can afford to get off their butts and do hauler escorts to move people out there. If you are in an alliance then you should work at one.

My first 0.0 experience was moving my corp out of branch and escorting 2 full iteron V's from K8- to NGM in the drone regions. 53 jumps of 0.0 goodness. And how did i get out to k8? I loaded up an atron with the clothes on my back and flew out there like a bat out of hell.

People have just become soft in the age of easy bridging. I welcome the return of freighter convoys, it'll give more conflict for all groups. NPSI BLOPs fleets will love to get wind of the convoys xD

I'm not part of one of the supercap powerblocks, nor do I own a super/titan/dread, and only have one carrier pilot with one carrier. Fights like 6VDT and B-R are what kept me into this game even though I was 100% in subcaps at the time. Eliminating the possibility of them, on top of warp speed changes that killed off battleship doctrines, just makes this game not worth playing.

So you're saying you rather have one massive brawl once a year then a crapload of better fights throughout the whole year?Seems odd as BRAVE allways says they are about fun-fights , especially as if i recall right one of your main FC's for example wasn't too happy with PL interfering with your fights vs provi , you know the type of interfering this whole ''nerf'''is trying to solve. Not to mention the station-egg that got supered out of existance ....

Slowboating? I thought even the most newbye high sec dweller knew slowboating and autopiloting your way from A to B means death.

Let's try again with "organized fleet moving together ready to engage hostiles" instead

This is the point exactly. It'll be soo unpleasant to try and hold soo much space that large entities will cease to do so. Hence opening the door to new and smaller entities that will actually occupy and live in the space they hold.

dude, i'm one of those "smaller entities" and this is not helping me at all; if you can't see why...

I liked the idea posted earlier, but I'm not scrubbing back through 30 pages to find it.

Similar to BSG, capital ships have a 'spool up timer' much like the microwarp drives. Say 2 minutes to spool up for a jump.

After jump, a new skill required (Jump Drive Recalibration). If your skill is low at this, somebody lights a cyno, you end up X amount of LY away. So if your JDR is low or you jump too soon, you end up christ knows where. This would be somewhat more realistic than 'my ship was tired'.

Big alliances wont be screwed at all for power projection. youll just see a fleet of 250 nullified ceptors burning around going to a system where theres 250 fitted carriers waiting that's within a jump or two of the destination.

alliances already do this with cyno toons and they have the income these days to start setting up cache's of such ships.

bubble the station to stop them I hear. ceptors are bubble immune, and 250 carriers undocking and letting lose drones is enough to scare off most camps.

Just to make sure everyone's aware, doomsdays can't be fired at subcaps.

Why not- after this? (Serious question)

Because I took the ability to do so away from them almost exactly three years ago, and the reasons for doing so still hold :)

But now there is an increased susceptibility of them to subcaps- being permabumped when attempting to align to the next gate as an example. If supers traveling via gates should be possible if not preferred, then should they not also now have means to defend themselves?

As I mentioned earlier, there are solutions to this already, and I'm sure people will figure them out.[/quote]
So... sit on our largely useless super accounts for... umm... what reason then?

You seem to think we're blind to the solutions you're talking about, rather than saying that they are... unsatisfactory and provide little reason to maintain those accounts. This happens often- you're told what the use will be after you propose a change, and rather than respond to it you handwave it off. People are going to be extremely reluctant to field their supers, smaller groups even more so than before. Not giving them minor things like the ability to defend themselves against a constant bump is short-sighted on your part.

I'll note that you entirely ignored that you have drastically changed the tactical situation that existed when you initially made the change, and are overlooking the potential for creating some very very tough decisions. Decisions that would further encourage actually using those ships you're about to system-shock.

The best part is. CCP doesn't give a **** about player feedback even though they say they read it and take it into account. Look at wormholes for example, they broke them, and decided "meh, **** this 100 page forum thread of why we shouldn't do it, let's do it anyways."

This time though, they're going to make a lot more people upset, and they're going to basically have to fire most of their staff just like in monocle-gate.

But don't worry CCP devs, I heard Riot Games is still hiring, and if you want to abandon ship before this game dies a slow, painful death. I'm sure you could get a job over there.

Thanks fozzie, thanks rise. You guys have done "so much" for this game in terms of balance. Dunno what we'd all do without you... Other than still playing Eve Online of course.

Well, let's be fair. Every CCP developer in the null working group will have a wonderful addition to their resumes after today. Especially Grayscale, Fozzie and Rise.

"Implemented a plan to change EVE Online from a MMO game to a full-time job for players, crashed subscriptions numbers which resulted in EVE Online getting shut down."

Any studio in the MMO market would be stupid not to hire someone with such a stellar qualification.

We didn't need nerfs to moving. We needed reasons to stay at home. Stupid and annoying timers are wrong incentive, are a massive advantage for the defender and will only make things harder for the new groups while being easily avoidable by the rich and established groups.

All we need to do is train all the alts for moving caps, some for combat and spend a few hundred billion on one cap cache per region. That's not a lot. We may need to reduce our more than 100% reimburse all the things programs for a few weeks though.
