there doesn't seem to be any good reason to have fatigure or cooldown exceed, say, 3-4 days (the max length of a structure timer plus one day), so why not cap it there? how about a cap of one week?

I'm glad you didn't do this a month ago, after returning to Eve after a spectacular ragequit 4 years ago, I can honestly say 'my stuff was alllll over the place', without my caps I'd have probably logged back off and rejoined hello kitty online

There seems to be a lot of complaining about the Cargo Running nerf.

They seem to be neglecting that CCP want's you to do industry everywhere, Not just in High sec and haul everything out to null sec. Spend more time building things in null and you won't have to haul everything from high.

This is just one tiny example of the overwhelming amount of shortsighted whining about everything is being ruined when all you have to do is re-strategize. There are solutions to everything everyone is complaining about. These changes will undoubtedly instigate a "Restrategizing race" that will revitalize all aspects of null.

Existing solutions will need to be thrown out and new plans will need to be drawn up. Some will succeed, Many more will fail. But there will be STUFF TO DO. EVE Is about overcoming challenges. CCP Is giving you some very large challenges to overcome. Stop complaining about CCP providing content to your "EVE IS DYING" game.

Ok so to sum up all the good ideas I've seen on Reddit on this topic:

  1. Replace the removal of medical clone placement with a 48hr+ cooldown timer on changing medical clone location. Or perhaps a 24hr+ waiting period on the change taking effect, followed by a 48hr+ cooldown. Would eliminate power projection without eliminating null newbros.
  2. Make jump fatigue effect an order of magnitude less for subcap pilots, allowing BLOPS gangs to act when they wish.
  3. Give all affected ships a flat 5LY maximum jump range, then make JDC accelerate the rate your jump drive fatigue dissipates.
  4. Possibly leave the jump range for the JF/Rorqual untouched so the logi guys don't biomass IRL.

I might actually stop playing except during the AT if this change goes through. You might want to actually talk to your board of directors before pushing this change through due to the amount of alt accounts that will be unsubbed if this change goes through. I do not know why you would make such a poor decision that would alienate so many of your veteran players with the failure of WoD and DUST 514, your fiscal back bone of eve is looking to make a loss in 2015 if you make this change.

Not if you had timer after à jumpclone jump to activate a jumpdrive...say 30min or 1hour for example :)

Just to play Devils Advocate here a bit if you wait out the fatigue timer instead of just the jump timer you can run this exact route in around 14 hours.



Yup, there's a lot of smart optimization opportunities here.


1. fair enough I guess, Just seems very heavy handed, and that is coming from someone who hasn't ever owned a cap. Maybe change the formula a bit so the first few jumps aren't hit as hard? I haven't had enough time to really think about it.

2. A jump every hour with gate travel in between jump timers is very feasible for large groups, for solo travel a cloak and/or logoffski for an hour should work alright. As you say though, the potential for optimization is there, which I mentioned in one of my other posts.
