The numbers seem a bit too rough. Especially the part where the penalties multiply instead of just adding: this triggers an exponential growth in the timer, so much so that it completely stops the movement.

That's kind of the point. That way you can still do short hops, but moving across the map via jump drive takes a loooong time.

In other news, smaller alliances, and other groups that only dreamed of 0.0 w/o being subject to the blue dohnut overlords are now getting ready to move out there.

Only to realize that all the large null powerblocks hold all the nullsec near empire so they will still have to rent/become pets to them because they won't be able to support themselves in 0.0 due to logistics having to pass through hostile nullsec held by those power blocks.

smart-bombing carriers on the gates FTW.

You get in trouble, de-agress, jump through gate, cap up, jump out to emergency cyno nearby.

WIN!

PS: suddenly wormhole chains are much move valuable to capital transit. Content for me!

Don't nerf the range on JFs or Rorqs in the first pass.
Keep the 90% bonus for JF's Rorqs.

See how this shakes out with actual combat ships only before you go whacking at pure logistics ships.

Unless you are willing to massively increase fuel bay sizes for jump bridges or towers that is. Tripple the capacity of fuel bays in towers to a 3 month possible touch and then it makes more sense.

Do not make just living in null be a burden when your goal is to break it apart a bit.

Edit, making this more clear.

How about this CCP Greyscale

Change the decay from 0.1 to 0.25. That is still a reasonable rate and will still keep capitals roaming slowly.

Rather than a 5 day cool down timer on some it will change it to about 2 days. Which is still a big hit to capital jumping...... But not as severe.

Dont go full blown harsh, do more like a kick to the shins and stepping on feet.

As it makes it harder for entities like PL to drop 40 supers onto a structure bash, ruining all of the fun, I have to applaud this change.

These changes make it no more difficult at all for established entities to accomplish their goals. Well, it makes it more tedious in that the move op has to be scheduled across multiple days -- but with the wonders of Dominion Sovereignty you have several days to react to any given sovereignty dispute due to the way timers work.

Welp. There goes Saminer to Stain!

Is 5LY enough distance to move thru all lowsec regions? Some of the regions don't have many losec system and they a bit spread ot.

Looking forward to seeing someone get stuck with a year+ timer.

Honestly these changes seem like they're still just attacking the symptoms instead of the problem. Delete all capital ships outside the mighty Rorqual.

First let me... BUEHEHEHEHEHEHEEH

Ok, now I have to say I am impressed by those changes. I have 2 or maybe even 3 cap pilots in the oven right now and they should be ready to undock with proper skills more or less in mid December so right about time to embrace Phoebe changes and I am really curious what will come with it. Finally something changes enough to make a difference instead of just putting more make-up on dead (w)hor(s)e.

Or maybe it won't change much but at least it sounds like it could.

Was going to get popcorn, but I need scuba gear from all the tears.

Some things that I saw in the blog that piqued my interest...

"for the time being they will still be barred from entering Highsec (that is a larger discussion that we would like to revisit in future)."

and..

"These include a rebalance of starbase weapons, a rebalance of stealth bombers and heavy interdictors, enabling of lowsec doomsdays, and changes to interdictor bubble mechanics. More information to come." (bolded the part that caught my attention)

Limiting all ships to a max of 5LY jump range is a pretty severe change.

No more lighting a cyno and jumping out of Jita or Amarr I guess.

This will be an interesting ride for sure.

What about player built stargates????

Did all of 0.0 forget about this change coming?

CCP what about the player built stargates that are coming in conjunction with the capital change?!?!?

Any chance of redoing the examples in Appendix A using three Alts per account? Run first Char to cutoff points in Appendix A, logout, Login Alt, proceed to next cutoff point, Logout, Login nrext Alt, proceed to next cut off point.

My guess is Character Bazaar prices for Jump capable characters is about to inflate.

As it comes to the point where I have to fly my ships manually to a deployment one by one, instead of just jumping them with a carrier: there will be no more deployments. Every 0sec alliance will stay at home, do nothing and finally stop playing EVE.

Do you really want the players to spend 98% of playtime on travelling? It's 50% travelling right now and the fact that people program warp to zero scripts should show you how much they like it.

This idea is literally worse than My Little Pony, Booda Booda and Big Brother combined.

This reminds me of some other game release that tried to balance null by introducing timers...

Since this change makes the job of logistics crews even more necessary to the functioning of a corp/alliance of any size, it seems like, if anything, JFs should be getting a buff, not a nerf, to cope with the fact that now we need JFs to do a lot more (e.g., a lot of people use capitals solely for logistics, e.g. hauling fitting ships, which now also makes deployments to different regions a much, much bigger job for logistics crews).

Basically, all the capital pilots can quit EVE, and it would probably be a better game for it. However, the moment a decent portion of people willing to do logistics work leave, the game is in serious trouble. Please don't make their life harder.
