Quick drone management for combat

We have been wanting a quick way to manage our drone groups for some time, but I dont think that radial menus will do the trick.
My idea is to drag a drone group to one of the module activation buttons, then via right click, assign what command would be given to that group with a click of that icon.
For example: Drag group "Hobgoblins" to the icon next to my blasters. Right click > attack. Then off to the side, I drag the group to 2 other buttons, and assign command to launch, and return to drone bay.
This way when a fight starts, I hit the launch button instead of navigating the menus, then hit the attack button the same as I would my guns. Once combat is over or I need to go to warp, I just slam the return to bay button. This streamlines the process, and allows us to better and more swiftly utilize our drone configurations.

All I think drones need is a launch button, other than that is already in the game.

My radial menu wants to ask you what its "deploy drones" option is if not a launch button.

Also, just a simple bland "Launch Drones" button fails to address the issue of "What if you have more than five drones, or what if you have multiple groups?"

Being able to launch drone groups by keybind would be nice. The idea of being able to drag groups of drones to your hotbar for deployment is a pretty solid idea for how to do this.

The other thing that absolutely needs to happen is for the "drone engage target" keybind to also work with logistics drones, mining drones, and salvage drones. Currently it only works with combat drones and EWAR drones.

Key binding for groups would be nice.
But then you can simply drag the group from the drones window into space and out they go. Not as good as a key binding but for now it will have to work.

Hence the idea for right click > assign command, it would make all that easily doable. Big smile

Am I missing something? The 'f' key makes whichever drones I have deployed 'engage' in whatever there task is against the currently highlighted target.works for salvagers, miners and combat drones so far.

Not getting it either, massive drone user since I started. The only changes which would bring comfort would be the drag and drop option to a fleet member on the watchlist for assist or guard.

And anyone flying in fleet should know what recycling guns means when drones go off course or linger - no command feature needed.
