Medium and above railguns absolutely blow balls on non gallente ships. They track like sh*t. Do dps like sh*t. Gallent have tracking bonus and damage bonus. Despite this rails still suck balls.

Youre right it makes no sense one should be able to kite with ACs but blasters should be OK.

Remember Large Blaster range/damage>medium blaster range/damage :). Blasters have most damge and tracking, but shortest range of any system.. Period. Large blasters have more range, so you can "kite", but mostly out of web range. Add some tracking enhancers on a tracking and bonused ship like the talos and you can hit to 20-24km. Even with the damage reduction in damage of long range ammo, Battleship grade blasters can still face melt. 20km may seem op, but railguns can hit to over 250km on certain hulls. Pulse lasers max 30km with scorch, beam lasers, almost 200km. missiles....etc.

Autocannons are fine.

Perhaps you could then explain how does a cane do more damage at 25km with heavy pulses and scorch, than with 50% bonused 425mm ac's with barrage?

but auto cannons aren't the closest range system blasters are


Both of them should not be used to kite anyway except maybe with double range bonus ships as exception.

Autocannons don't do have any optimal. they are falloff based. medium autos have range in the late teens, blaster equivalent is like 5-6km on bonused hulls, maybe 8km.

Use more gyros? Lmfao. I know you can hit 500dps with 425's and I only have minmatar bc 4.

Also worth noting, auto cannons do least amount of raw damage, however they make up with high rate of fire. Arties are the opposite, high damage, painfully low rof :(
