Multi ship idea

Hiya

Would it be cool to have like 3 ships/pilots and you form them together to make 1 big ship? different ships makes different combinations, 3 HACs would make a dread killing ship or somthing for special missions where you must have team work

you could have a pilot, electronics operator and a weapons operator, all in one ship?

Or a duel ship, you had an AI alt that is your minion who handles EMC, reping etc

Or and have a skill that mods the ship the longer you fly it, like if you fly it for 2 weeks in space, you get a speed advantage or hull or weps as you get to know the ship through an implant or something

We have no pets, how about a cat or dog or some wee thing in the station that jumps on on your console and puurs at you and greets you, awwww that would be cool

I like to have a mod or somthing that scans the ships in my space and tells me the biggest threat to me, also a mod or skill that scans the ships and pilot and tells me who i have a good chance of killing

Oh thanks Ugh

I'm being serious, what ideal leads you think I'm a troll or child? The minion in the station? What you would not smile if a little Mogwi jumped up on your shoulder and squeaked at you as they were pleased to see you after a long days hauling?

Well I would love it

When the capsuleer "plugs" into the ship via his pod, the ship acts as a second body. Being 3 people in one mega ship would be like being a schizophrenic

No thanks, I rather not have a HAL on my ship... Also what is EMC?

Wait what? How would this even work? This is what the skillbooks are for... Giving us a better understanding of the ships mechanics, therefor enhancing our skill to control it better than a crew of 100 would.

There is no such thing in EVE as "biggest threat" Everything is a threat.

Also (and this is the reason why it's never been done, and likely will never be done either), the game engine doesn't like it at all when more than 1 person occupies a single ship. Bad things tend to happen...

So before we even delve into all the gameplay discussions and such, there are hard technical limitations to this, short of rewriting the entire engine, it won't work.

Also, please learn to use the search engine, this topic has been brought up a lot of times beforehand (multiple people in 1 ship).

I think you men ECM instead of EMC. Managing various types of ECM, your capacitor, drones, range, and DPS application are real human multitasking skills. Teamwork is already very important, I think the missions you are looking for are incursions. Megazord doesn't have a place in eve, technical problems aside.

There are hardwiring implants that do this already. For example: NN-605 +%5 base speed, HG-1005 +%5 base armor, or SS-905 +5% Turret Damage modifier. Its not dependent on how long you fly your ship, nor should it be. Not only is there quite the ability to abuse the proposed mechanic, it doesn't fit in well with the eve theme as a whole. Weapons and armor do not gain 'experience' the more you use them unlike other MMOs, its one of the unique things that draws players to eve. However you as a player can learn to use that ship better, and better understand its capabilities and deficits. Which segues nicely to the last part of your OP

Imogine wrote:

This is a capability of your mind. As you learn the ship you fly and the ships flown against it you will better understand the capabilities of your chosen ship. There are existing tools to ascertain the combat prowess of an opposing pilot, from showing info on them in game to compare age and estimate skill points, to checking their killboards to gain insight into what they fly, how they fit, and your chances of success.

This is entirely unnecessary. I'd advise doing some research on the Incarna expansion, and the reaction of the playerbase to the captain's quarters, walking in stations, the NEX store, and monocles.

This is also likely as to why you were perceived and childish and not worthy of respect by some. Coupled with your other suggestions adds the negative stigma of 'trying to make eve less like eve and more like other MMOs to suit you" In other some MMOs you have a level above you and other players or NPCs colored from green to red based on your estimated capabilities. You can also have pets and your equipment and skills upgrade as you use them in other MMOs.

The Eve Community has a very harsh reaction to those with this mindset. Eve has been around for over a decade and has made an identity clearly unique from other games. Those with that mindset have been around consistently since and many simply are all out of patience for it.

On a long enough timeline, the life expectancy of everyone drops to zero.

why do I see ccp banning some ships from this....?

Rokh for example. I had my twisted bit of fun trying to run mine up the avatar's front end (don't think I need to show pictures as to why, have to find a way to make waiting for titan ops to start laughable when they get delayed really long somehow ...lol). If not me...someone would happily volunteer their rokh to the voltron. I'll let you guess where'd they want to be placed lol....

So...sort of like a reverse t3? Instead of one ship swapping into different roles, you have different ships combing into a new ship?
Will it look like a mecha?Cool

You're doing a good job of selling OP's idea there.
