Ahoy!

We will deploy a new feature to Singularity in the very near future (today or tomorrow) which will allow you to import text based fittings using the EFT (EVE Fitting Tool) format with just 1 click, for example from EFT, Pyfa killboards, Battleclinic, etc. Here is how it's done:

1. Copy the fitting text to your clipboard
2. Go to your client, open the fittings window
3. Click on 'Browse'
4. Click the little icon in the bottom center that looks like 2 papers
5. Profit!

This feature does not care about text formatting other than that the modules are all separated by line breaks.

Please try the feature out and leave any feedback you might have in this thread.

Fly safe!

this is a very useful feature that is very well hidden.

i don't like hidden features.

can't the client just monitor the clipboard ?

it's 4 clicks btw:

1. open client
2. open fittings
3. click browse
4. click the paper icon

the chance of someone stumbling upon this is close to zero.

Client monitoring clipboard I don't like, as my clipboard often has some rather private things on it.

What about exporting in EFT format to clipboard?

I don't think it needs to be presented in cat-sized red letters. It's a feature for importing fittings from a third-party tool that not everyone uses (but most certainly should use), so the existence of the feature should be mentioned in the context of those third party tools IMO.

Stumbling upon it? There will be a button for it in the browse window. I assume there will be a tooltip too.

0. mark killboard/battleclinic as trusted
1. browse killboard/battleclinic in ingame browser
2. see fitting. hit button in browser. fitting gets shown with option to save it similar to linked fittings.

Nice :) I like this a lot.

Of course, if your corporation or alliance are using Fleet-Up for fittings then you could do this now by clicking Fitting > Open In Game > Save using the IGB. #shameless

Two questions:

1) Does this feature handle EFT fits that are not in the current client language? Can I paste English EFT-format fits into a Japanese or French client? (the current XML import/export does not handle this terribly well)

2) Would it be possible to support "control-V" instead-of/in-addition-to the little icon?

EFT already do this

Worst reasoning ever. EFT monitoring the clipboard does not make it ok for EVE to do the same. There are other tools besides EFT out there as well.

Very doubtful. I use my fitting browser very often. In fact, I've set it to Ctrl+F shortcut (ctrl+alt+f is what I set the FPS monitor to), so importing a copied fit is exactly one click for me.

No matter how I get to it, I know I'm not anywhere close to the only person who makes use of the browse fitting window. It's going to be a button right there. I do not see this as hidden at all.

1) It only supports importing fits in English, but should work for any localized client (please let us know if it doesn't, because it worked for meSmile)
2) Could be looked into

this is really good and will save a lot of time. I don't think it's too hidden at all and anyone who does is a whiny baby.
