Its a whole load of bull about nothing because those privileged people who are getting all upset over it, its like white guys getting upset of the n word or various other stuff.

The only people that should care about the chainmail bikini are:

1) Women
2) Women who wear them
3) People who draw/animate women in chainmail bikinis

However, everyone should get upset over people threatening violence on people who express their opinion, even if that opinion suggests all men want to see women in chainmail bikinis because women are objects blah blah blah, which obviously isn't true...think of the nipple chaff!

Regarding the topic, the people who threatened Anita ought to be tossed in jail, as they certainly committed a crime.

And while I do enjoy the chainmail bikini and pixel boobage here and there, I do not enjoy seeing or engaging in simulated violence against women. I tend not to play those kinds of games.

The exception: Quake and Unreal (in their more modern iterations) where everyone is equally violent right back if they're not on your team. (I'd usually just make all of my team members the female characters, and the bot team all male or alien... it just sat better with me.)

I haven't done thorough research, but I think the chainmail bikini was invented by Marvel Comics artist John Buscema around 1975. That was for the Red Sonja character in the Conan the Barbarian comic. The original Conan artist was Barry Windsor-Smith, a more tasteful Brit who drew Sonja this way. Note the utilitarian and plausible (if sort of unrealistically form-fitting) mail shirt.

When Windsor-Smith resigned and Buscema took over, Sonja transformed from being a sharp-eyed freebooter cutthroat woman, into more of a cheesecake babe warrioress. The invention of the chainmail bikini-- maybe?

By the way, Barry Windsor-Smith went on to make a lot of really dreamy, finely executed art. Here's one example.

For the record, I'd like to point out that Sarkeesian has repeatedly pointed out unfair stereotypes against men in games, too. I've heard her rail against the "hyper masculine protagonist" just as much as anything else.

Real feminists hate ALL sexism.... not just the sexism that damages themselves. That's why I find it pathetic and laughable that these neckbeards want to paint her and her supporters as female supremists.
