P.S. I was able to login for about 40 seconds ... There were only 10 ppl in Arnon ... I didn't see a total online before it whisked me in ... but then SOCKET CLOSED ... meh

UPDATE: I managed to login again (from Belgium) about 4000 players online only ...

Came expecting clarity, left with confusion.

From what I can tell:

The USA is engaged in serious intense cyber warfare against the north pole, our Aussie friends are DDOSing the living crap out of the ocean, and China is joining the USA in a joint attack against the north pole.

Am I reading this wrong? Please advise.

They wont give you details, no reputable IT department would allow giving any details that could high light hardware circumstance of downtime as it would potentially expose vulnerability. Funny, ive played EQ2 for 7 years never once had a DDoS attack downtime ... played WoW for 4-5 years and never had a DDoS downtime ... played a whole bunch of other games SWG/STO/SWTOR and more never once had a DDoS downtime .. where do you get your info from eves DDoS attacks in the past week are the first time i even heard of a DDoS attack


I was all prepared to post links proving you wrong on the "never had any ddos attacks" crap. But then read the part where you admit you've only ever learned of them in the past week.

so, you can't stop it. you can only mitigate it, since you will need up to serious hardware (or, up to military level), depending on how hard it is, how fast, and how long it lasts.

It helps to use this thing called a "router" which probably comes equipped with a "firewall" that makes the concept of launching a organized DDOS or other attack against a single internet user behind NAT a bit, well, batpoop silly to even say out loud :P

i understand this is Eve and the Tear Buckets are overflowing but if you have the gumption to do something stupid like this then go after corrupt world goverments not someones form of entertainment.. going after a video game is like a fat kid holding a jelly donut being told hes fat it's just to easy and a little pathetic
