Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have a tutorial for calling eve API Data inside of a google doc? Is this possible to do? I'm specifically trying to list my current market orders and their stock level in a particular station's market. I am able to get this data through many different apps however I'd like to get the info pulling automatically into a spreadsheet if I can.

Thanks,
Rosco

totally doable

=IMPORTXML("http://api.eveonline.com/char/MarketOrders.xml.aspx?keyId=YOURKEYIDHERE&vCode=YOURVCODEHERE", "/eveapi/result/rowset/row/@volentered")

you have to give it an attribute to pull back otherwise you get nothing. you may want to paste the url minus the eveapi part so you can see the attributes you can pull back

Don't feel bad, took me almost a day of beating my head against a wall to figure out that I needed to tell it I wanted attributes back

Follow up question, How often will that pull the info from the api? I want to make sure I'm not flooding them with requests or anything. Also is there a suggested interval for how often is acceptable to pull the info?

Each API has a cachedUntil time in the XML you should obey.

Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Designer of Yapeal for the Eve API. Check out the Yapeal PHP API Library thread.

it seems to only pull when I open the sheet, I think there's a 2 hour internal timer for grabbing it again.

You can check the cachedUntil in the examples on the New Eden Development wiki for the API endpoint. You can find the market orders endpoint here, looks like it's one hour.
