In response to Pilot Anslo, DSTON typically runs such hazardous operations through a very brief review process. Development gives timely approval or denial once details are know. Ston or myself may be contacted.

This dual rescue was the result of a second thought. I was moments before going off duty and decided to take one last look at the patrol area. There were both deathcans with survivors as reported.

A small arms confiscation was made today on the Concord to Amarr crossing in my patrol zone. I also report these recent rescues.

Edit: I wish Core Complexion would do something about the smog problems in their habitation domes. We are forced to locate all our Matriculants elsewhere because of this serious detriment to good health.

To echo Manwe's comments, some though not all Republic owned stations have pollution control issues. We make extensive use of several Republic stations in Republic space without environmental issues. We encounter the issue more frequently in stations outside Republic jurisdiction. In those cases, we usually use bio-domes elsewhere. I know the particular station that continues to be an issue in Manwe's patrol area. I think that perhaps that is a local station manager issue and not necessarily a systemic issue.

All in all, we are happy with the hospitality we have experienced across high security space.

116.07.10 00:13 Furious Kyo 148 people

I make this rescue report as I watch our station crew help 148 people into the egress area and triage center. Although most are not in urgent need of serious medical attention, most all pass through the triage center first so that all receive the care they need that may be hidden from casual observation. Adrenaline can often hide even serious injury.

We hope the best for these who have survived a deathcan experience. So long as we can help it, this experience will never be repeated.

I was jetcaned once. It was an..... interesting experience, to say the least. Made a bit easier by the knowledge that I was going to be picked up almost immediately. Still, it's slightly unnerving knowing so little material is between you and the vacuum of space.

A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go.

Imagine for a moment that you and a friend are standing maybe 500 meters apart. There is a barrier between you, but you can communicate by shouting at each other. Knowing that a friend is there and that you can talk to him or her is of great comfort to you. Imagine now another vision. It it you are alone and soon you become aware of how alone you are. Now suddenly there is a stranger about 500 meters away. Both of you find great comfort in being able to shout to each other and communicate in your loneliness. You are both grateful. Finally, imagine that you are but 500 meters away from another lonely soul, but are unaware that you share both your loneliness and your peril. Only 500 meters separate you yet you cannot shout at each other because you do not know the other is there. The emptiness of space separates you. You both slowly realize that you will die in your loneliness.

Two single survivor deathcans were picked up a short time ago. In the med berth about the DSS Pacifist these two souls met and were told their circumstance. I was in pod, of course, but my crew communicated what could only be described as a mystic presence at that moment. No one could quite put it to words.

Single rescue deathcans are a combination of heart sadness and heart joy.

Pilot Gaufres has transferred to our care: 543 prisoners and 72 Kameiras. They are in temporary quarters in Yulai until Manwe can administrate their disposition. The prisoners will find humane accomodations at our Detention Center in Yulai and the Kameiras will join more their brethren awaiting re-deployment through the PIE program. Once again, Gaufres has demonstrated humanity that we appreciate. Gaufres mentioned that the prisoners were in a Gurista facility and so we hope that it may be found that some or maybe all might be able to be released. We will handle the situation with care and caution while caring for their immediate needs.

116.07.12 2034 Castor Malls 50 former slaves, 4 hounds, 5 Slavers
116.07.12 23:44 Thirian Amadarr 30 people

A transcription error precludes me linking information on the second deathcan owner. Administrative efforts are being put forth to correct the error.

The rescue of slavers along with slave survivors has slowed considerable in the past weeks. We think that perhaps fewer slavers are willing to risk the "deathcan" possibility and so conduct their business remotely on such illegal runs. But, that is mere speculation.

Narq Lokrar, Cyan Sound (Groups: 10 Elite Slaves, 10 Elite Slaves, 30 Marines, 10 Militants, 10 Slaves

There were problems looking up pilot Narq Lokrar in the pilot data base. This was an unusual rescue and it may take some time to sort out the detals of how most of these people ended up in the same deathcan. One possible answer is that they may have been intended victims of a blood cult ritual. Between the rescue the posting of this report, I was marked with a terrible standing rating by a pilot named Funk. No explanation was givien and I don't recall any interaction with her in the past. We'll visit with those we rescued to see if we can make heads or tails of it.

The prisoners and Kameiras mentioned by Ston are now in two separate locations in Yulai.

I believe Anyanka Funk is a blooder, Mr Todako, if that sheds any light...

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

She is. So it should't be a surprise that she would get around to red listing the Disiples is Ston..... zany blooders and their killing people.

Recently, a routine trip to Jita turned into a rescue operation for slaves left aboard the wreckage of a ganked transport. After they were safe, they underwent a small check, to verify their health and status.
They received medical attention at the Arcology station and some time to recover from their brush with death.

As the Arcology project has no expertise with assisting slaves, I turned them over to the Disciples of Ston so they can be guided & assisted properly. About 960 Elite slaves are now in their custody. I like to thank Ston Momaki for the smooth transfer.
A summary of the rescue can be read in this publishment: Slaves Rescued in Jita!

Due to the massive trade that Jita attracts, it also brings in a large scale black market, where illegal goods and slaves are traded as well. There weren't the first slaves I managed to rescue in Caldari space, I doubt they'll be the last...

Jita is a trafficking destination of great concern to DSTON and many others. We have a growing community of those rescued from ships bound for the dark slave under-market of Jita.

116.07.20 10 former Elite slaves rescued by Captain Flyint Reverente, picked up in Claysson and brought back to our M-center in Kaaputenen

As part of our Matriculation work, we receive former slaves and refugees of all kinds from other pilots with hearts of humanity that rescue those in peril out in the space=lanes. These pilots take time and risk to do this. We are happy to assist by providing our centers for their care education and re-integration. Captain Reverente came to us through our friend Gaufres. Our gratitude to you both.

116.07.26 22:00 (12 former slaves, 5 hounds, 5 slavers)

The first can was detected in predictable deathcan range and position for the patrol area we were in. We noted a distant second can and thought it to be a munitions stash. We rescued the two occupants of the deathcan and brought them back to the M-Center. Seeing an opportunity for a weapons confiscation, we quickly changed over to a confiscation crew and headed back out at the end of the timer. We were somewhat surprised to find the second can also a deathcan. Confiscation protocol does not involve recording pilot info and we also needed to use a different escape procedure being distant from the gate. We have a happy group of rescued people and a happy crew tonight. We count a rescue above and beyond a confiscation on any day.

116.07.27 22:57 Deirdre Macduff 1 person

The deathcan owner has some odd religious language in her biography. Those who would seek to do good through the avenue of religion, face the constant barrage of pretenders and hypocrites and worse of all, maniacs. Let those of all beliefs and unbelief for that matter, extend the nest of their values by proving themselves to be gracious toward all, especially to those not of their belief system.

One person of universal value, was rescued from this lonely deathcan. May she be a light in the second chance she has been given. Deirdre Macduff could not snuff out this soul; not today.

116.08.03 21:07 Sasara Toldya, Estelle Utama, Marcus Rinkles ( 20 former Elite Slaves, 31 former Slaves)

There is an expression: "Something has to give." It is often used in reference to the accumulation of pressing duties and\or demands that become mutually exclusive after a time. This mutual exclusivity need not be a conflict of values or vision and often is not. Most often it comes down to a matter of time and finances. We have felt the press here at DSTON. The Matriculation communities we administrate consume enormous quantities of time and resource. We are feeling pressed as pilots. I have not patrolled as much lately. Planet-side and community based demands have eaten in to flying time. I'm not sure what the long term impact will be.

Note on the second rescue: I exclude linking the names because only two of the three cans were deathcans. I did not have the time to safely rescue survivors and sort our whose can belonged to whom. One of the three is probably only a victim of an attack.

116.08.10 23:39 wwhymee 132

Unfortunately, 132 people is the passenger capacity of the DSS Beacon. The Beacon is assigned this particular patrol route because usually the rescues are small in number. There were two deathcans, one with 500 and one with 10 on board. 132 were rescued and assistance was called for hopefully within ten minutes. Ston headed over from Niarja, 13 jumps away and made it within 10 minutes but only the second deathcan remained. He rescued the ten in that can but the other can was gone. We hope they were rescued.

These ten souls were rescued after I was diverted from my Niarja patrol by an urgent call from Manwe when his ship was unable to accommodate all the survivors of a deathcan he had discovered. While I made it there before his timer expired, the can was gone but a second deathcan remained and ten people were rescued.

I will be putting in a request for another Prowler to be put into service under Manwe's command and that the Beacon be placed on standby.
