Of course, keep the possibility to change the bookmark name before submitting it, but automatically do a number increment if a bookmark of the same name already exists locally.

Don't see anything negative with this and would be beneficial for those creating several bookmarks (safes!?) in a rush

Same -- don't see any glaring downsides to this.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Would make certain things easier (just thinking of saving roids with the same name°°).

I ll support it if nobody can come up with something reasonable why not.

ditto, tired trying to figure out which "spot in space" or "cargo container" i just bm'd... though I guess I could always do a fair bit of cleaning and organizing on my part after the fact when I get time, but who really wants to warp to each of the bookmarks just to see where its at and why?

I'll issue a cautionary support.

It's cautionary because, historically, bookmark management has been very server heavy for Eve. What you're proposing would then add a text based search to an already loaded process, increasing the problem.

However, CCP Fozzie's latest dev blog suggested they were making changes to the Bookmarking processes to make them less resource gobbling than they previously were, so this may not be an issue moving forward. If it can be done at a minimal cost in terms of server resources, I'm all for it.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.
